Engineer – Construction Management

Our Napier team is seeking an experienced Engineer – Construction Management to support the delivery of high quality civil infrastructure projects across the region. In this role, you’ll work closely with clients, contractors and internal project teams, contributing across procurement, contract administration and construction phases. As a key member of the Construction Management team, you’ll provide professional construction and contract management services and support the successful delivery of projects from start to finish.

Key responsibilities include:

• Acting as Engineer’s Representative and Contract Administrator during construction phases
• Preparing procurement and contract documentation and evaluating tenders
• Supporting investigations, inspections, engineering analysis and technical reporting
• Managing project controls including programme, cost, risk, variations and cashflow
• Assisting Project Managers to deliver projects to time, cost and quality expectations
• Maintaining strong working relationships with clients, contractors and stakeholders

About you

• Proven construction and contract management experience, with a strong understanding of New Zealand civil infrastructure delivery
• Around 5+ years’ experience in construction and contract management roles
• Working knowledge of NZS391X contracts
• Experience acting as Engineer’s and/or Contractor’s Representative
• Confidence managing programmes, risks, variations, reporting and project controls
• Strong written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to engage effectively with clients and stakeholders
• A collaborative, solutions focused approach with a strong client focus
• Current clean driver’s licence
