The Role

The successful candidate will join the AI and Data Science team to support the delivery of AI-enabled systems for industrial, commercial and public-sector clients.

The role focuses on technical project coordination, system integration, infrastructure planning, testing and deployment. The candidate will work closely with System Architects, AI developers, deployment staff, vendors and clients to ensure that project solutions are successfully implemented and delivered.

This position is suitable for a technically minded engineer who can coordinate project delivery, understand system and network requirements, and communicate effectively with both technical and non-technical stakeholders. Extensive hands-on programming is not required.

What you'll do:

• Coordinate the day-to-day technical delivery of assigned AI and IT system projects.
• Translate project requirements into implementation plans, technical tasks and deployment activities.
• Work with System Architects, developers and vendors on system integration, infrastructure and network requirements.
• Support on-premises, cloud and hybrid system deployment.
• Define and coordinate project-level network requirements, including connectivity, ports, firewalls, DNS, VPNs, proxies and certificates.
• Liaise with client IT teams and infrastructure vendors to resolve deployment and connectivity issues.
• Coordinate system integration testing, user acceptance testing, defect tracking, production rollout and system handover.
• Monitor project progress, technical dependencies, issues and risks, and escalate them when necessary.
• Prepare technical documents, deployment plans, network diagrams, configuration records and project reports.
• Provide technical guidance to Assistant Engineers and coordinate their implementation and testing work.
• Support project proposals, technical presentations, procurement specifications and vendor evaluations.
• Perform basic system configuration, troubleshooting or scripting when required.

You'll be a good fit if you have/are:

• Bachelor’s degree or above in Computer Science, Information Technology, Network Engineering, Software Engineering or a related discipline.
• Around 3 to 5 years of relevant experience in technical project delivery, system integration, infrastructure, networking or IT solution implementation.
• Good understanding of network and infrastructure concepts, including TCP/IP, DNS, VLANs, VPNs, routing, firewalls, proxies and network security.
• Experience coordinating network and infrastructure requirements for system implementation or project delivery.
• Familiarity with Linux, Windows Server, virtualisation, containers, cloud platforms or on-premises system deployment would be an advantage.
• Basic programming or scripting knowledge, such as Python, PowerShell or shell scripting, would be useful but is not a core requirement.
• Experience coordinating testing, UAT, system rollout, issue resolution and technical handover.
• Ability to understand system architecture and communicate effectively with developers, infrastructure teams, vendors and clients.
• Strong organisational, analytical, problem-solving and communication skills.
• Able to manage assigned technical workstreams and follow through on project deliverables.
• Experience in consultancy, enterprise, government-funded or public-sector projects would be an advantage.
• Good command of written and spoken English and Chinese
• Candidates who can demonstrate knowledge of AI, or experience and ability to apply Generative AI tools in their work, will be preferred

A competitive salary package commensurate with academic qualifications and experience will be offered. The successful candidates will be employed on a fixed-term contract basis, which is renewable subject to appointee’s performance and the Council’s development needs.
