Advanced Technology Laboratory drives and supports the development and innovation of various Interiors products from the feasibility study through to a prototype development. Besides product development, the group also leads various methodology development activities within Interiors. The team is continuously engaged in projects on diverse domains like Mechanical & Electro-Mechanical designs, AI/ML, Structures and Fluid simulation, Interaction studies, System Engineering, Materials, Processes, and Automation etc.

Position: Engineer (P1)

Primary Responsibilities:

  • Design and develop mechanical and electromechanical products from concept to production.

  • Create detailed 3D models, assemblies, and 2D drawings using CAD tools.

  • Work on product assembly, integration, and functional testing to ensure performance and reliability.

  • Support additive manufacturing (3D printing) initiatives, including design for additive manufacturing (DfAM), prototyping, and validation.

  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams including electrical, electronics manufacturing

  • Handle custom design requirements and coordinate with suppliers/vendors to ensure feasibility and timely execution.

  • Maintain proper documentation of designs, revisions, and test results.

  • Ensure designs meet quality, safety, and cost targets.

Required Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering, Electromechanical Engineering, or Mechatronics.

  • 1–3 years of relevant industry experience in product design and development.

  • Hands-on experience in designing, assembling, and testing mechanical/electromechanical systems.

  • Proficiency in CAD software such as SolidWorks and Siemens NX.

  • Experience working with suppliers for custom design and manufacturing requirements.

  • Good understanding of manufacturing processes and material selection.

  • Strong problem-solving and analytical thinking abilities.

  • Good communication and interpersonal skills.

  • Ability to work independently as well as in a team environment.

  • Attention to detail and commitment to quality.

  • Basic knowledge of GD&T and engineering standards is a plus.
