Job Description

HEICO Component Repair Group is currently seeking a motivated and detail-oriented Engineer to support operational activities within our FAA-regulated facility.

This position is responsible for performing highly specialized engineering duties required to develop repairs for most commercial and select military aircraft, including the preparation of detailed repair instructions and engineering documentation.

The Engineer will work closely with production, quality, engineering, and customer support teams to ensure all repairs meet FAA regulations, customer requirements, and company quality standards while delivering safe, reliable, and cost-effective repair solutions.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Create detailed repair instructions and engineering documentation to support repair and overhaul activities
  • Develop repair drawings, fabrication drawings, and engineering models using SolidWorks
  • Generate engineering substantiation data, including stress analyses, fit and clearance evaluations, and other technical calculations as required
  • Utilize OEM technical manuals, engineering specifications, and industry standards to develop approved repair solutions
  • Perform metrology activities to collect dimensional data and validate component configurations
  • Interpret and apply Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerancing (GD&T) requirements in engineering drawings
  • Prepare technical reports, engineering change documentation, and project records
  • Support continuous improvement initiatives by identifying opportunities to improve repair methods, engineering processes, and operational efficiency

Qualifications

Skills / Education and Experience

  • Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering, Aerospace Engineering, or a related engineering discipline required
  • Minimum of 3 years of engineering experience in aerospace, aviation, manufacturing, or a related technical environment
  • Possess a strong ability to create detailed models and drawings in SolidWorks.
  • Proficient with metrology equipment and GD&T drawing specifications
  • Ability to complete all phases of a Repair or Fabrication project from beginning to end (Metrology, Fabrication Drawings, Gather and Compile Data, Develop package, etc.)
  • Experienced in the use of MS Excel and Word
  • Must demonstrate a high level of mechanical aptitude
  • Highly organized and able to prioritize rapidly changing assignments
  • Must be able to manage multiple priorities and projects
  • Excellent interpersonal and verbal/written communication skills

Physical Demands

  • Ability to remain stationary for extended periods of time
  • Must be able to operate office machinery
  • Occasionally requires the disassembly and reassembly of components
