DOTD is seeking an experienced Traffic Engineer to support transportation projects and programs through traffic engineering, safety studies, traffic operations, data analysis, signal systems, traffic control, and operational improvements that support safe and efficient travel. This position supports the development, delivery, maintenance, or improvement of transportation infrastructure by applying engineering principles, conducting technical analysis, coordinating projects, and conducting compliance-related reviews.
No prior licensed engineering experience is required — training is provided, with opportunities for career progression and advancement through the Engineering job series.
Position is located in Ouachita Parish in District 05, and reports to Engineer 6.
While in an official capacity, DOTD employees must comply with applicable Louisiana and Civil Services laws, rules, and regulations, as well as DOTD policies, procedures, manuals, and directives.

Possession of a current Louisiana license to practice professional engineering.
NOTE:
