Objectives:
We are looking for an experienced R&D Engineer for Engine Periphery parts (such as Intake &Charging system, Ventilation system and Cooling System) to join our global powertrain R&D team. The role has global RD ownership of mass-produced 4-cylinder engines, and new part development of China leading projects, also need ensure joint venture localization engine projects delivery.
Main tasks
Perform technical/cost benchmarking, concept evaluation and feasibility analysis for new projects.
Conduct architecture design, component layout and 2D/3D engineering design according to engine/vehicle
Formulate DV/PV test specifications, follow up part validation, engine test and vehicle test result, analyze test failures, and conduct root-cause analysis.
Support JV pre-production verification, process validation and on-site technical troubleshooting to guarantee SOP on time.
Resolve in-production and field quality issues, deliver rapid interim countermeasures to prevent production shutdown and customer complaints, and implement ongoing part design optimization.
Collaborate with R&D headquarter, purchasing, quality, production and suppliers to manage component development schedule, cost, quality, and validation progress.
Accurately and systematically update and archive 2D/3D drawings, technical specifications, BOM and other relevant engineering documentation.
Qualifications:
Education: Master or Bachelor degree in automotive /mechanical engineering or equivalent fields
Experience: 5+ years R&D experience on Engine Periphery parts (such us Intake/Charging system, Ventilation system and Cooling System) at OEM or Tier1 supplier.
Specific knowledge
Fluent written and spoken skills in English; German is a plus
Familiar with automotive material characteristics (plastic, rubber, aluminum) and common manufacturing processes (injection molding, blow molding, laser welding etc.)
Logical thinking, strong data analysis & root cause investigation capability
Solid knowledge in 3D modeling and 2D drawing design software, like Simens NX.
Outstanding cross-department communication, supplier management and technical presentation capabilities.
