Position Summary
The CFE738 Engine Mechanic Apprentice is an entry-level position designed to develop foundational skills in the maintenance, inspection, disassembly, and assembly of CFE738 turbofan engines. Working under the guidance of experienced technicians and supervisors, the apprentice will learn OEM procedures, safety standards, and repair station practices while supporting engine overhaul operations.
Key Responsibilities
• Assist with receiving inspections, documentation review, and basic visual condition checks.
• Support disassembly of CFE738 engines and modules under supervision.
• Perform basic cleaning, tagging, and organization of engine parts and hardware.
• Assist with dimensional and visual inspections as directed by certified technicians.
• Help document findings and maintain accurate records under guidance.
• Support assembly tasks such as hardware installation, torquing, and component prep.
• Assist with tooling setup, equipment handling, and shop organization.
• Learn proper use of manuals, service bulletins, and technical data.
• Follow all safety procedures and maintain clean work areas.
Qualifications
Required Qualifications
• High school diploma or GED required.
• Enrollment in or completion of an AMT program.
• Mechanical aptitude with interest in aviation maintenance.
• Willingness to learn and follow direction in a team environment.

Physical Requirements
• Ability to lift up to 50 lbs.
• Frequent standing, bending, and hands-on work.
Development Path
• Progression to CFE738 Engine Mechanic based on skill development and performance.
• On-the-job training in disassembly, inspection, build, and test support.
• Exposure to FAA Part 145 repair station requirements and documentation practices.
