Job Description

We are looking for a talented Engine Field Service Technician to join our team specializing in Services, Maintenance and Diagnostics for our Service Operations Department in Accra, Ghana.

In this role, you will make an impact in the following ways

  • Deliver timely and accurate on-site engine repairs by diagnosing and resolving less complex technical issues efficiently, minimizing customer downtime.
  • Provide a professional and customer-focused service experience by communicating clearly, acting courteously, and responding promptly to customer needs.
  • Apply technical expertise by using specialized tools and following standard procedures to ensure repairs are completed correctly and safely.
  • Support operational reliability by performing preventative maintenance according to set schedules, improving equipment performance and lifespan.
  • Enhance team effectiveness by escalating complex or unresolved issues appropriately, ensuring faster resolution through collaboration with senior technicians or supervisors.
  • Maintain high-quality service standards by completing all required documentation accurately and promptly, including service reports, timesheets, and warranty claims.
  • Drive business growth by identifying additional service opportunities during site visits and proactively communicating these to customers or internal teams.
  • Promote safety and compliance by strictly adhering to Health, Safety, and Environmental policies while maintaining tools and service vehicles in optimal working condition.

To be successful in this role you will need the following:

  • Strong technical and diagnostic capability: Effectively interpret customer issues, follow guided troubleshooting processes, and perform accurate repairs and maintenance using the correct tools and procedures.
  • Accurate and structured documentation skills: Consistently produce clear, detailed service reports and maintain accurate records in service management systems to support tracking, compliance, and future reference.
  • Digital and system proficiency: Confidently use diagnostic software, digital tools, and Microsoft Excel/Word to manage workflows, track service activities, and analyze data efficiently.
  • Effective escalation and problem-solving approach: Recognize when to escalate complex issues, capture all troubleshooting steps, and collaborate with higher-level experts to ensure timely and high-quality resolution.

Education/ Experience

  • Apprentice Trained Engine Technician (Preferred).
  • Vocational diploma from relevant technical institution.
  • Locally valid driving permit.
  • Basic level field service work experience.
  • Intermediate level knowledge of and/or experience with engine products.
  • Customer service experience.
  • This position may require licensing for compliance with export controls or sanctions regulations.
