The role requires strong expertise in internal combustion engine (ICE) powertrains, test bed automation, instrumentation, and data acquisition systems, along with the ability to troubleshoot complex hardware and software interfaces in a high‑pressure test environment.

Key Responsibilities

1. Test Operations & Hardware Management

  • Manage engine dynamometers, instrumentation, and Data Acquisition (DAQ) systems.
  • Troubleshoot and resolve Dyno hardware, instrumentation, and automation software issues.
  • Ensure test cells are correctly configured for performance, emissions, durability, or calibration testing.
  • Define material handling requirements for test facilities (rail systems, lift assists, fixtures).

2. Manufacturing Engineering & Standards

  • Develop and maintain Bill of Process (BOP) standards for test methods and equipment specifications.
  • Create and maintain Bill of Material (BOM) for test systems and standardise components globally.
  • Use virtual manufacturing and virtual commissioning to simulate and validate test systems.
  • Develop test process sequences and provide inputs to the Global Study Process Allocation System (GSPAS)

3. Procurement & Technical Strategy

  • Technical Skills: Proven ability to independently troubleshoot test hardware, instrumentation, and automation software.
  • Communication: Strong English communication skills (written and verbal) for cross‑functional collaboration.
  • Autonomy: Ability to manage multiple priorities in a high‑pressure test environment.
  • Nice-to-Have Skills
  • Experience with Dyno automation software such as AVL PUMA or equivalent.
  • Exposure to emissions, performance, durability, or calibration testing.
  • Experience coordinating multiple test rooms or technician/ shifts.
  • Familiarity with systems such as work station time study and Powertrain standards.
  • CAD proficiency (CATIA or SolidWorks) for fixture and layout design.
