Job Description

We are looking for an experienced and driven Senior Test Engineer to join our Testing team located at the Porto do Acu, São João da Barra (BR). This role is pivotal in ensuring the qualification, validation, and long-term integrity of our flexible pipe systems used in offshore oil and gas environments.

As a Senior Test Engineer, you will lead mid-scale and full-scale test programs from planning through execution and reporting. You will act as a technical authority in safety, quality, and testing methodology, while serving as a key point of contact for internal stakeholders and external clients. In addition to executing complex technical tasks, you will drive continuous improvement initiatives and provide mentorship and training to peers.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead safety alignment and risk assessments for all testing activities, ensuring adherence to HSE best practices and internal guidelines.
  • Act as a leader in quality alignment, ensuring compliance with international standards (e.g., API17J, API17B), customer requirements, and NOV procedures.
  • Define, review, and follow Inspection and Test Plans (ITPs) and testing protocols.
  • Plan, prepare, and execute mid-scale and full-scale test programs.
  • Define test requirements and produce associated technical documentation.
  • Design and develop specialized tools, fixtures, and test rigs when required.
  • Coordinate testing activities across internal departments, subcontractors, third parties, and clients.
  • Act as single point of contact for specific test programs or technical topics.
  • Monitor test execution, analyze complex datasets, and produce high-quality technical reports.
  • Drive continuous improvement initiatives, implement new testing methodologies, and recommend procedural enhancements.
  • Support project planning, schedule adherence, and resource coordination.
  • Mentor and train peers, promoting technical development within the team.
  • Support workshop technicians during preparation and execution phases.

Qualifications & Skills Essential Qualifications

  • Degree in Engineering (Mechanical, Automation, or related discipline).
  • Several years of experience in a testing environment, preferably within oil & gas or subsea systems.
  • Strong technical background in mechanical systems and structural behavior.
  • Solid understanding of international industry standards (API17J, API17B, etc.)
  • Experience working on complex, multi-stakeholder projects.
  • Strong knowledge of instrumentation, calibration, and data acquisition systems.
  • Experience interpreting engineering drawings and technical specifications.
  • Proficiency in data analysis and post-processing tools.
  • Good understanding of project management principles.
  • Proficient in English (written and spoken).

Desirable Qualifications

  • Master’s degree in Engineering.
  • Experience with flexible pipe systems or similar high-pressure mechanical systems.
  • Experience designing test equipment or custom test rigs.
  • Familiarity with fabrication and assembly processes in oil & gas.
