Job Description

Renison University College, affiliated with the University of Waterloo, acknowledges that we live and work on the traditional territory of the of the Anishinaabeg, Hodinohsyó:ni, and Attawandaran (Neutral) Peoples. Renison is situated on the Haldimand Tract, the land granted to the Six Nations that includes ten kilometres on either side of the Grand River from mouth to source.

The Knowledge Development and Exchange (KDE) Hub for Mental Health Promotion, housed at Renison University College, invites applications for the full-time, contract position of Engagement and Learning Manager, KDE Hub This full-time contract is for 13-months (February 2025 – March 2026) with the possibility of extension (35 hours per week; hiring salary range: $75,000 - $80,000).

The KDE Hub, with funding from the Public Health Agency of Canada (PHAC), was established in 2019. It is a national entity that facilitates connections, knowledge creation and knowledge sharing with projects funded by the federal government, as well as with a broader stakeholder community in the growing field of mental health promotion, mental illness prevention and youth substance use prevention. The Hub is hosted by Renison University College and built strong foundations in its early years. Objectives: The Engagement and Learning Manager works in collaboration with other team members to develop and advance the work of the KDE Hub and its outcomes. The Engagement and Learning Manager is responsible for understanding and meeting the learning needs of the KDE Hub’s audiences. This position leads and contributes to the development and delivery of a variety of learning supports and knowledge exchange activities. The incumbent will represent Renison in a manner consistent with the values, goals, and strategic directions of the University College.

Qualifications

Education:

  • Graduate degree in population health or a related field

Skills & Experience:

  • A minimum of five years’ experience in a project management role
  • Experience in designing and delivering adult learning and/or training supports
  • Experience in population health intervention research and evaluation with a range of quantitative and qualitative methods
  • Experience in knowledge exchange processes in the academic, public or not-for-profit sectors
  • Proven ability to work successfully with a wide range of organizations and individuals including in community groups, academia, education, non-governmental organizations, and multiple levels of government
  • Experience with communities of practice preferred
  • Ability to act on high level directions and work in an autonomous setting; high degree of initiative, sound judgment and ability to maintain confidentiality required
  • Demonstrated respect for and understanding of the challenges facing diverse populations; experience with Indigenous or Black communities preferred
  • Flexible and able to work virtually and effectively with a diverse group of stakeholders and within a dynamic and geographically dispersed team
  • Knowledge of mental health promotion and/or youth substance use prevention sector preferred
  • Oral and written fluency in both English and French preferred
  • TCPS 2: CORE-22 Certification preferred
