About the Role

The Engagement and Communications Officer supports the profile, reach and impact of the Factory of the Future through the delivery of engaging communications, marketing and stakeholder engagement activities. Working collaboratively with internal and external stakeholders, the role coordinates events, digital content, promotional initiatives and industry engagement activities that support Flinders Factory of the Future’s strategic objectives and strengthen its reputation and connections.

In this position, you will also:

• Coordinate industry engagement activities, events, workshops and site visits
• Develop engaging content across digital, social media and marketing channels
• Manage the Flinders Factory of the Future’s digital presence and communications
• Build stakeholder relationships and support reporting, evaluation and continuous improvement

About You

You are a proactive and highly organised communications and engagement professional with strong written communication skills and a talent for creating engaging, audience-focused content. You bring experience coordinating events, digital communications and stakeholder engagement activities, and are confident working across multiple projects and deadlines. You build strong relationships with diverse stakeholders and can balance strategic thinking with hands-on delivery, using initiative, sound judgement and attention to detail to achieve high-quality outcomes.

As an Engagement and Communications Officer, you will also demonstrate:

• Relevant qualifications in marketing, communications, public relations, events management or a related discipline, with subsequent relevant experience, or an equivalent combination of education, training and experience
• Experience developing and delivering communications and marketing content across digital channels, including websites, social media, newsletters and email marketing
• Experience coordinating events, stakeholder engagement activities and promotional initiatives, including planning, logistics and evaluation
• Experience using a range of content management, CRM, social media, email marketing and design platforms (e.g. Canva, Adobe Creative Suite or equivalent tools).

  • Demonstrated experience coordinating events, site visits, stakeholder engagement activities and promotional initiatives, including planning, logistics, risk management, delivery and post-event evaluation.
  • Demonstrated experience managing digital communication platforms and channels, including websites, social media and email marketing systems, with the ability to monitor performance and identify opportunities for improvement.
  • Sound understanding of marketing, branding and digital communication principles, with the ability to develop and deliver communications that align with organisational objectives, brand standards and stakeholder needs.
  • Well-developed stakeholder engagement and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build effective relationships, influence outcomes and collaborate with diverse internal and external stakeholders.
  • Demonstrated ability to manage multiple priorities, projects and deadlines simultaneously, exercising initiative, sound judgement and attention to detail in a dynamic environment.
  • Experience using a range of communication, marketing and design tools, including content management systems, social media platforms, email marketing software, Canva, Adobe Creative Suite or equivalent platforms.
