Engineering Support Specialist II | 3-5 Years Experience
We are seeking a Engineering Support Specialist II with 3-5 years of experience to support engineering procurement activities, supplier coordination, purchase order execution, cost tracking, and material/service availability for engineering projects. The role requires strong coordination with engineering, planning, finance, quality, and supplier teams to ensure timely, compliant, and cost-effective procurement support.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
- Support end-to-end procurement activities for engineering materials, components, tools, consumables, spares, services, and project-related requirements.
- Convert purchase requisitions into purchase orders after validating specifications, drawings, scope, quantity, delivery schedules, approvals, and budget availability.
- Coordinate with engineering teams to clarify technical requirements, bill of materials, part numbers, revisions, approved makes, and alternate sourcing options.
- Identify, evaluate, and coordinate with suppliers for quotations, lead times, technical compliance, commercial terms, and delivery commitments.
- Prepare RFQs, compare supplier quotations, perform basic price analysis, support negotiation, and maintain quotation comparison records.
- Track open purchase orders, expedite deliveries, resolve supplier delays, and provide regular procurement status updates to stakeholders.
- Coordinate with stores, logistics, finance, and quality teams for material receipt, inspection, invoice matching, documentation, and payment follow-up.
- Maintain accurate procurement records including supplier communications, PO amendments, delivery documents, invoices, and compliance documents.
- Support vendor onboarding, supplier performance monitoring, issue escalation, and corrective action follow-up.
- Ensure procurement activities comply with company policies, approval matrix, contract terms, ethical sourcing practices, and audit requirements.

QUALIFICATIONS & EXPERIENCE
- Bachelor’s degree or diploma in Engineering, Supply Chain Management, Business Administration, Commerce, or a related discipline.
- 3-5 years of experience in procurement, sourcing, purchase operations, supply chain coordination, or engineering procurement support.
- Experience in manufacturing, engineering services, industrial equipment, automotive, electronics, energy, infrastructure, or similar technical environments is preferred.
- Good understanding of purchase requisition to purchase order processes, supplier quotation cycles, delivery follow-up, and invoice coordination.
- Proficiency in MS Excel for trackers, comparison sheets, status updates, and basic reporting.
PREFERRED / ADDED ADVANTAGE
- Experience working with engineering drawings, BOM structures, MRP outputs, project procurement, or technical service procurement.
- Knowledge of inventory basics, material planning, import/local procurement documentation, and quality inspection coordination.
- Familiarity with supplier development, contract purchase orders, blanket purchase agreements, and rate contracts.
- Exposure to cost-saving initiatives, alternate sourcing, supplier scorecards, and continuous improvement projects.
