Job Responsibilities:
To provide installation, repair and troubleshooting of Robotics, Programmable Logic Controllers (PLC’s), Welding and Material Handling equipment, electrical and motor controls for manufacturing
Responsibilities
Responsible for quality and conformance of product to customer specifications per control plans utilizing TS16949 & ISO14001 documented systems; authority to stop non-conforming processes and report same to supervisor, Quality Assurance and/or Engineering department representative
Install, troubleshoot, and repair automated production and support equipment in conjunction with Engineering and Production team members under general supervision
Design and write advanced programs which control motion, perform routine functions, perform welding operations, make decisions, control I/O, and communicate to other control devices and make modifications if the process requires
Install, troubleshoot and repair common controls and sensors, including PLC, weld control, robotic systems and/or press controls
Modify existing control systems, sensors, PLC’s, weld control, robotic systems, as required for operational changes
Troubleshoot and repair I/O logic circuits and devices, including mechanical, infrared, laser, and inductive sensors
Ensure compliance with National Electrical Code and OSHA standards
Build, troubleshoot, and repair electrical panels utilizing relay and programmable logic circuitry
Troubleshoot and repair electronic drives and controls
Inspect equipment condition utilizing established Preventive Maintenance procedures
Seek continuous improvement opportunities to improve efficiencies and reduce waste
Maintain necessary documentation including machine histories, preventive maintenance check sheets, and logbooks
Housekeeping and other activities as assigned
Qualifications
Industrial Maintenance, preferably in manufacturing environment, or equivalent combination of education and experience is required
4 or more years’ experience required
Welding – both resistance spot weld and Metal Inert Gas (MIG) welding experience
Basic electricity, hydraulics, pneumatics
Programmable Logic Controllers required
Skills
Individual must observe all safety regulations to insure own and others’ safety
Ability to read, write, and speak English
Ability to use precise measuring equipment
Basic math skills required
Excellent teamwork skills required
Individual to be mechanically inclined, self-motivated and reliable
Ability to work overtime as required
Individual must furnish basic personal tools for use at work
Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals
Ability to write routine reports and correspondence is required
Education
High school graduate or equivalent
An associate degree in electronics from a two-year college or technical school preferred
Six years of press shop and/or assembly maintenance related experience in a manufacturing environment is acceptable
Knowledge of resistance and Metal Inert Gas (MIG) welding and metal fabrication fundamentals
Robotics and PLC programming required
Basic electricity, hydraulics, pneumatics
Resistance spot welding and MIG welding
