General Responsibilities:

  • Reports to the General Manager.
  • Manage all electrical
  • Manage, forecast and report on all aspects of utilities on campus and communicate with client on a regular basis.
  • Responsible for all purchasing and inventory, providing recommendations on products and prices for all departments in accordance to the Sodexo compliance program.
  • Manage the payroll program and ensure that all procedures are followed, all records are up to date, (Vacation, sick time, lieu time etc…), and that payroll is 100% accurate.
  • Provide technical support and troubleshooting with unit computer hardware, software and all other electronics equipment.
  • Manage day-to-day operations which involves the following: Asset management, preventative maintenance database management, Kronos database and computer maintenance and support, CMMS (Maximo)
  • Manage electronic building, mechanical, electrical, structural drawings system

Specific Responsibilities:

  • Energy Management
  • Operations Control Center
  • Supplies, purchasing
  • Payroll Management
  • Co-Safety Officer
  • Special projects (VFA, Maximo, Space management)
  • IT, software (Insite, Metasys, Share point etc…) for the unit
  • Preventive Maintenance Program
  • Client Asset Management
  • Communications technology management - radio system and cell service

Human Resources

  • Attend CUPE Labour Management meetings
  • Ensure that the GM is informed of any outstanding employee issues as needed
  • Train and develop employees throughout the operation.
  • Maintain a safe work environment and adhere to safe working standards.
  • Conduct Tool Box/Forepersons meetings as scheduled.
  • Manage Stores, Operations Control Center and Payroll staff

Financial

  • Approves orders for equipment and supplies as authorized
  • Identify cost savings in both labour and supplies at all times.
  • Approve Requisitions, Purchase Orders and Invoices for supplies as authorized.

Report Requirements

  • CNG and main electrical consumption and cost forecast on a regular basis.
  • National Pollution Release Inventory (NPRI) - completed through NPRI website. Requires GC Key registration - mandatory June 1st deadline
  • Provide utility charts for client report which includes comparison data for fuel consumptions, degree day data, steam consumption, fuel pricing, water consumption, electrical consumption.
  • Provide Building Reallocations report which includes meter readings which roll up to monthly summary sheets calculating cost and consumptions for all buildings on campus.
  • Compile monthly CHP Operating data/costs.
  • Provide annual utility consumption which includes data tracking spreadsheets from year 2000 to present.
  • CNG nominations-Provide weekly CNG nomination forecasts of fuel consumption which is submitted to Irving Oil.

General

  • Build, operate and maintain Assets Information SharePoint.
  • Conduct campus wide building safety inspections.
  • Maintains regular communication with University personnel.
  • Administers quality control programs, analyzes cost and work schedules to promote operational efficiency.
  • Trains, develops and supports subordinate supervisory staff.
  • Promotes teamwork throughout the department.
  • Meet daily with departmental staff.
  • May be exposed to sensitive and confidential information and must adhere to Sodexo and client policies.
  • Maintains close communication with our Acadia client through regularly scheduled meetings and real time demands.
  • Manage Ecolab pest control program.
  • Other duties as requested by Management.
