Looking for a flexible, part-time role that fits around study, travel, or other commitments? Join Origin’s Energy Inbound Sales Specialist team and gain valuable customer service and sales experience with a leading Australian energy brand.

This part-time, 6-month contract is ideal for university students, or Working Holiday Visa holders seeking meaningful work in a supportive, fast-paced environment.

About the role

As part of our Energy Inbound Sales Specialist team, you’ll work directly with customers, supporting both new and existing Origin customers across sales and service interactions. This includes win-back, cross-sell, move and acquisition activities, ensuring residential and SME customers have the right energy, utility and broadband solutions for their needs.

You’ll commence with structured training, ongoing coaching and support to help you succeed in the role.

Working hours

  • Monday: Rotating roster between 8:00am – 7:00pm
    (e.g. 9:00am – 5:30pm, including a 30-minute break)
  • Tuesday: Rotating roster between 12:00pm – 7:00pm
    (approximately 5-hour shift)
  • Friday: Rotating roster between 12:00pm – 7:00pm
    (approximately 5-hour shift)

Availability across these rostered hours is required.

Training

  • Full-time paid training for the first 4 weeks
  • Monday to Friday, 9:00am – 5:00pm

Key responsibilities

  • Support customers through acquisition, retention and move journeys, delivering solutions and great experiences
  • Provide confident, friendly sales conversations with a strong focus on customer needs
  • Ask curious questions to identify the right products and resolve enquiries on first contact
  • Build knowledge of Origin’s products and services to support customers effectively
  • Balance customer outcomes with commercial and regulatory requirements

About you

  • Strong written and verbal communication skills across phone, email and digital channels
  • A customer-first mindset with an interest in sales and learning
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team
  • Comfortable working towards targets and learning new systems
  • Sales or customer service experience is an advantage, but not essential
