First level supervision of hourly crews engaged in the operations of a power plant. Supervise unit operators & technicians in the generation of electrical power. Assist in planning and coordinating outage related activities.

What you’ll do:

Essential Job Functions & Tasks

  • Maintain and ensure safe working conditions, use of proper tools and equipment, and protective clothing & devices. This includes housekeeping activities, participation in accident investigations and the use of root cause analysis or other methods in order to maintain a safe work environment.
  • Oversee and supervise safety training of assigned employees.Assist in developing long and short range plans for maintenance, capital improvement availability and staffing.
  • Assist in the development of plant O&M, capital forecast and tracking and controlling of expenditures to meet approved budgets.Maintain awareness of plant operations in order to maintain optimum economy in the operation of the plant.
  • Record and track discrepancies or errors, coordinate with others, make recommendations to correct and improve conditions. Take immediate necessary actions in case of emergency.
  • Formulate and execute action required to resolve immediate equipment problems in a safe and cost effective manner.
  • Conduct equipment inspections and the checking of protective devices to assure safe and continuous operation of the generating units.
  • Test plant equipment to determine the operating condition of equipment and seek improvements or corrective actions.,
  • Oversee the analysis of control systems; recommend/make proper adjustments of systems to improve and ensure the safe and efficient operation of the plant.
  • Develop, maintain and enforce safe working conditions by providing proper and adequate tools, equipment, protective clothing and devices.
  • Establish and enforce safety work behaviors. Participate in the setting of safety goals for an accident free work environment.
  • Communicate to employees the importance of a safe work environment on a daily basis. Investigate, report and track incidents/accidents including root cause analysis and corrective action taken. Report findings to management and then communicate findings to employees.
  • This position may be required to participate in the site fire brigade. This requirement is plant site specific.

What we’re looking for:

Education:

  • Bachelor's or Associate degree in technical field or equivalent applied knowledge (see experience).

Experience:

  • Bachelor's and 4 years of power plant experience; or Associate's degree and 6 years' power plant experience; or high school diploma/GED and 8 years of power plant experience.

Base Salary from $98,993.00-$128,689.00/year.

$98,993.00 - $128,688.00

The Physical Demand Level for this job is: L – Light Work: Exerting up to 20 pounds of force occasionally and/or 10 to 12 pounds of force frequently, and/or greater than negligible up to 5-6 pounds of force constantly to move objects. Physical demand requirements are in excess of those for sedentary work. Even though the weight lifted may be only a negligible amount, a job should be rated Light Work: (1) When it requires walking or standing to a significant degree; or (2) when it requires sitting most of the time, but entails pushing and/or pulling of arm or leg c ontrols; and/or (3) when the job requires working at a production rate pace entailing the constant pushing and/or pulling of materials even though the weight of those materials is negligible. NOTE: The constant stress and strain of maintaining a production rate pace, especially in an industrial setting, can be and is physically demanding of a worker even though the amount of force exerted is negligible
