Job Description
Second Foundation is a global energy trading company with around 450 employees across locations in Prague HQ (CZ), Zug (CH), Berlin (DE), Charlotte (USA), and Tokyo (JP). We specialize in trading in power markets and integrating and optimizing renewable energy and battery storage systems. We are actively expanding our own asset base, with a primary focus on battery storage.
We are seeking an Energy Market Access Specialist to join our Market Access team. In this role, you will help enable our trading activities across European energy markets by coordinating market access processes, supporting onboarding to new markets and platforms, and ensuring smooth cooperation with key market participants and authorities. You will collaborate closely with Trading, Origination, Legal, Compliance, Finance, Technology teams, as well as other departments across the company, while helping us navigate the evolving landscape of energy markets.
What would you work on?
- Leading and overseeing market access across our existing and new energy markets — ensuring we can operate efficiently and in full compliance with market rules and requirements
- Driving preparation for new markets, renewable and storage assets into our trading portfolio, and coordinating legal, tax and compliance aspects
- Acting as the primary point of contact with external market institutions — regulators, TSOs, power exchanges, and other market operators — representing Second Foundation with professionalism and expertise
- Monitoring regulatory and market access developments across jurisdictions and proactively advising internal teams on implications for market participation
- Identifying and implementing improvements to internal processes, workflows, and coordination practices related to market access and operational activities
- Working closely with trading, legal, compliance, and operations teams to support smooth market participation and resolve complex operational matters
- Owning and maintaining our operational, regulatory, and onboarding documentation — ensuring accuracy, completeness, and accessibility across the organization
- Managing KYC, membership, and other regulatory onboarding requirements with precision and a strong sense of ownership
What makes you a great candidate?
- University degree in law, economics, finance, or a related field; advanced degree or professional certifications are a plus
- Several years of relevant professional experience in energy, legal, finance, trading, or another regulated industry — you have navigated complex regulatory environments before
- Understanding of energy markets and trading, including exchange memberships, regulatory registration processes, and the operational mechanics of market participation
- Proven ability to manage multiple workstreams independently, prioritize effectively, and drive things to completion without close supervision
- Strong communication skills — comfortable engaging with regulators, market operators, and senior internal stakeholders alike
- Fluent written and spoken English and Czech; additional European languages are a strong advantage
- Proactive, structured, and curious — you anticipate issues before they arise, ask the right questions, and thrive in complex, fast-moving environments
- High attention to detail combined with the judgment to distinguish what matters from what doesn't
What do we offer?

- Competitive salary package with the possibility of a yearly bonus.
- 25 days of paid holiday.
- Flexible working hours and home-office options.
- High-end workstation.
- Sponsored lunch in the office. Every workday.
- Free snacks at the office.
- Multisport Card – fully paid by the company.
- Colleagues who are absolute experts in what they do.
