We are hiring an Energy Infrastructure Research Analyst to support deep investigative research on U.S. energy infrastructure projects.
This role is intentionally designed as a growth-track research position, ideal for a strong investigator or analyst who wants to develop domain expertise in energy and infrastructure over time. You will work closely with a senior research lead who has deep experience in U.S. power markets and will provide hands-on training and guidance.
The work is open-ended, analytical, and investigative in nature. Your output will be used directly by enterprise customers making real-world investment and acquisition decisions.
You will research U.S. energy infrastructure projects, including:
- Generation projects (solar, wind, storage, gas, hybrid facilities)
- Large load projects (data centers, industrial facilities, manufacturing, crypto)
The work is not limited to surface-level research. Much of the value comes from uncovering information that is not easily Google-accessible.
Ownership & Entity Research:
- Identify project owners and developers, including tracing SPVs to parent and ultimate owners
- Resolve ambiguous or intentionally opaque corporate structures
- Document evidence and clearly explain reasoning behind ownership conclusions
Project & Development Signals:
- Research permitting activity, filings, and regulatory touchpoints
- Identify development progress, risks, or red flags
- Surface interconnection-related signals where publicly available
- Identify financing, partnerships, vendors, or counterparties when possible
Synthesis & Documentation:
- Produce clear, concise written research summaries
- Distinguish facts from inference and assign confidence levels
- Maintain strong source discipline and reproducibility
- Input findings into structured internal tools and databases
- Strong investigative instincts and comfort with open-ended research
- Experience with research, due diligence, competitive intelligence, or similar analytical work
- Familiarity with corporate ownership research (SPVs, subsidiaries, beneficial ownership)
- Ability to work with public records and online registries
- Excellent written English communication skills
- High degree of self-direction, persistence, and intellectual curiosity
- Exposure to energy, infrastructure, utilities, or regulated industries
- Familiarity with U.S. filings or regulatory systems (SEC, UCC, state registries)
- Background in financial research, consulting, investigative journalism, or infrastructure diligence
- Experience researching data centers or industrial facilities
Deep prior knowledge of U.S. power markets, FERC, or ISOs/RTOs is not required. We expect to train the right candidate on domain-specific concepts.
