Primary Purpose:
Performs technical work to sustain energy distribution operations, including routine analysis, system updates, and coordination of maintenance activities. Assists in planning and scheduling tasks that improve reliability and service continuity.

Reporting to the Customer Project Management Department, the Energy Delivery Associate II is responsible for planning and managing customer requested projects. This role involves regularly conversing with customers, contractors, and other stakeholders at project sites to guide projects through the utility service and energization process. The position supports a diverse portfolio of projects, including but not limited to new business, upgrades, and rearrangement work for residential and commercial projects, with a strong focus on delivering exceptional customer experiences and timely project execution.

Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Resolves engineering complaints to ensure customer satisfaction and circuit reliability improvements.
  • Conducts root cause analysis for system failures and shares findings with quality and reliability teams.
  • Performs planning studies to model the electric distribution system and collaborates with team members to correct system record discrepancies.
  • Performs load forecasting to support generation dispatch planning.
  • Coordinates schedules for maintenance, restoration, metering, and operations planning activities.
  • Obtains permits and easements in accordance with regulatory requirements.
  • Uses SCADA systems to monitor circuit status and report anomalies.
  • Explains operational details to internal teams and customers in clear terms.
  • Frequent, independent driving to meetings, company locations, field locations and/or active incidents sites while maintaining a focus on safety and compliance with traffic laws is essential to this position and cannot reasonably be accomplished via alternative transportation.
  • Performs other duties as assigned.

Qualifications

Required Qualifications:

  • Typically requires a 4 year degree in a relevant field, or equivalent combination of relevant education and experience.
  • Typically requires 2 years of related experience.

Required Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:

  • Ability to analyze routine system or asset data to identify common performance issues.
  • Ability to coordinate information across operations, engineering, or planning teams.
  • Ability to perform assigned professional work independently with general supervision.
  • Knowledge of applicable industry standards, regulations, and internal requirements.
  • Knowledge of energy delivery and distribution system components, configurations, and operating constraints.
  • Skill in applying judgment to resolve standard problems using established policies and procedures.
  • Skill in documenting analyses, recommendations, or system impacts clearly and accurately.

Required Licenses and Certifications:

  • A valid CA Driver’s license or the ability to obtain a valid CA Driver’s License prior to the first day of employment.
