
Who You Are: (Job Summary)
The Energy will coordinate the procurement of utilities for QTS. This includes coordinating electricity/water/waste contracting, as well as risk management and supplier management. You will interact with various internal departments and teams, including sustainability, operations, accounting, budgeting, and sales. This position will require interacting with third-party energy-related data providers and supporting the development of a broader energy strategy for QTS. You will create and manage dashboards for energy usage, rates, spending, and carbon footprint, and interact with internal and external stakeholders.
What You Will Do: (Job Responsibilities)
Lead energy Procurement, support risk Management and strategy development activities.
Lead carbon-free energy initiative to help QTS meet its commitment to procure 100% of its energy from carbon-free sources.
Interface with energy suppliers, operations, sales, accounting, budget, and sustainability teams.
Manage corporate-wide carbon-free energy balance.
Manage energy efficiency projects.
Lead and support strategic energy initiatives, portfolio optimization, and energy trading activities.
Manage and maintain documentation, dashboards, and reports that support QTS’s energy portfolio.
Stay informed on utility policies, regulatory changes, and industry trends impacting the data center and energy industry.
Other duties as assigned.
What You Will Need to Be Successful: (Required Qualifications, Education, Experience, Certifications)
Bachelor’s Degree in science, engineering, architecture, business, law, finance, or related discipline; or equivalent professional experience.
5+ years of experience in energy contracting for conventional and renewable energy, and energy trading.
Strong analytical skills, including proficiency in Excel.
Ability to prioritize, multitask, and deliver high-quality work in tight timeframes.
Self-starter with a track record of demonstrated ability and willingness to learn, motivation, and dedication to excellence.
Travel up to 30% required.
Nice to Have: (Preferred Qualifications, Education, Experience, Certifications)
Familiarity with deregulated retail market structure, market participant registration, credit requirements, etc.
Experience with natural gas supply and procurement options for greenfield and brownfield sites.
Experience with energy and transmission capacity trading.
Experience managing energy efficiency projects.

The successful candidate’s starting salary will be determined based on permissible, non-discriminatory factors such as skills, experience, and geographic location.
The estimated pay range for this role, if based in Colorado, is:
$113,395.13 - 173,411.38
