In this role you'll perform a variety of technical duties associated with the editing, retrieval, processing, validation and market submission of metered data, interact with appropriate personnel to resolve suspected metering or telecommunications problems, work with other companies to come to an agreement on metered values, review, investigate and resolve metered load discrepancies, develop a basic understanding of the workings of RTOs., Job Level: Considered first tier entry level role within job family.

What You'll Do:

Check Out Focus:

  • On a daily basis use various tools and methods to update the Load Accounting System of Record tool to accurately represent the Transmission System.
  • Work with counterparties to come to an agreement on interconnected meter data.
  • Estimate or find an alternative source of data for suspect data values.
  • Provide required reports using in house tools and business objects.
  • Validate and lock down meter data values after month end.
  • Provide good communication of system issues that may impact quality or deadlines.
  • Meet daily and monthly deadlines.

Meter Data Retrieval Focus:

  • On a daily basis use meter reading software including MV-90 xi and other meter reading tools to interrogate data on the AEP Transmission System.
  • Perform validation checks on data and fill in gaps with estimated data.
  • Work with meter technicians to resolve issues in the field.
  • Monitor changes to the Transmission System and take the lead in setting up or adjusting accounts.
  • Provide good communication of system issues that may impact quality or deadlines.
  • Meet daily and monthly deadlines.
  • Provide billing quality data to wholesale customers and troubleshoot any issues or questions they have.
  • Assist in the set-up of new Meters on the Transmission System.

RTO Market Focus:

  • On a daily basis use in house tools to review and submit data to RTOs.
  • Perform validation checks between AEP internal data, third party data and RTO data to ensure that markets settle correctly.
  • Meet daily and monthly deadlines or work with RTOs to extend deadlines when issues occur.
  • Provide monthly reconciliation data.
  • Develop a basic understanding of RTO markets and market rules.

What We're Looking For:

Education and Experience:

  • Entry-level with a Bachelor's degree in Mathematics, Statistics, Engineering, or Business; OR
  • Associate's Degree and two (2) years relevant experience with Transmission or RTO Settlements or performing statistical and data analysis.

Other Requirements:

These are additional expectations for the job and could include specific work experience, license / certifications, preemployment testing, expectations about travel, shift work, etc.

  • Exposure to MV90 Xi, Cognos, RTO markets and/or analytic software such as SAS preferred.

$63,496.00 - $93,188.50
