Our software tools enable companies around the world to develop highly innovative electronic products faster and more cost-effectively. Our customers use our tools to push the boundaries of technology and physics to deliver better products in the increasingly complex world of chip, board, and system design.

Position Overview

You'll maintain, monitor, and optimize emulation products and infrastructure across data center, cloud, hybrid environments, and customer sites. This role blends hands-on emulation hardware support and operational ownership with a forward-looking focus on automation, observability, scalability, and service reliability. You'll collaborate closely with R&D, Customer teams, and Operations to ensure high availability, optimal performance, and continued expansion of the emulation infrastructure.

We are looking for a field-based support professional to be primarily out of the Harlow area. Flexibility to travel to other locations or regions as business needs require is essential.

Key Responsibilities

  • Provide lifecycle hardware support for Siemens EDA emulation systems, including installation, service, upgrades, and end-of-life activities
  • Independently diagnose and resolve complex hardware issues to restore system availability and minimize customer impact
  • Perform incident response, root cause analysis, and problem management for Emulator/ProFPGA and Veloce product-line issues
  • Conduct onsite and remote hardware support at customer locations, Siemens offices, and home-based dispatch as required
  • Execute full system installations, including unboxing, rack-and-stack, cabling, hardware assembly, software loading, and initial checkout testing
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to support issue resolution, product reliability improvements, and operational excellence initiatives
  • Manage material disposition of failed hardware, maintain spare parts inventory, and ensure accurate tracking in internal systems
  • Collect and report operational data to support global monitoring, reliability analysis, and continuous improvement efforts

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in electronic or software engineering, or equivalent hands-on experience
  • Proven experience troubleshooting and repairing complex electronics hardware
  • Proficiency with Linux OS and Microsoft Windows environments
  • Knowledge of high-speed serial data technology and systems
  • Strong technical communication, analytical problem-solving, and team collaboration skills
  • Demonstrated experience handling electronics parts with proper grounding procedures and safety protocols
  • Valid driver's license and full flexibility for domestic and international travel on short notice.
  • Direct experience with emulation hardware support and emulation technologies
  • Knowledge of server and network technology, including networking fundamentals (DNS, DHCP, VPN, TCP/IP)
  • Hands-on experience with monitoring and automation tools
  • Proficiency in performance tuning and system observability across hybrid environments
  • Data center operations knowledge and technical expertise
  • Familiarity with enterprise security standards, compliance frameworks (ISO, NIST, SOC 2), and safety standards
  • Passion for automation, self-healing infrastructure, and continuous improvement
  • Physical capability to move 50–70 pounds and work in lab/datacenter environments for extended periods
