The Emerging Technology (EmTech) team is part of ING Global Tech and plays a central role in shaping how ING anticipates and responds to tech-driven change. Operating at the intersection of business strategy, architecture, delivery, and tech, the team translates emerging technologies into concrete transformation initiatives that create real business impact.

We apply a structured, consistent approach to move from early signals to scalable outcomes, ensuring ING stays ahead of disruption while avoiding fragmented or siloed efforts. By combining strategic insight with hands-on execution, we enable the organization to turn emerging technologies into enterprise-wide capabilities that strengthen ING’s competitive position.

What are we looking for

We are looking for an experienced consultant with transformation experience who combines strategic tech advisory with hands-on transformation delivery.

• 12+ years in consulting, transformation, or tech strategy

• Master’s degree and relevant certifications

• Strong consulting skills and a strategic mindset

• Strategic advisory & problem diagnosis with ability to navigate ambiguity and complexity with clarity and structure

• Proven experience in enterprise-wide transformation and change delivery by leading design sprints with Enterprise-Proof of Concept (E-PoC)

• Stakeholder management at senior level (CTO/CIOs/MBB-1), building trusted relationships and drive alignment across business and tech

• Innovation & external perspective, maintaining strong awareness of emerging trends, market developments, and partnerships

• Ability to create buy-in and engagement at all levels of the organization

• A naturally collaborative person, who listens and invests in others to achieve common goals and at the same time pushes, where needed, to break through existing routines.

• Do it-Try it-Fix it' mentality

• Strong affinity with (Emerging) Technology and what role it can play forward looking for ING.

• Courage and decision-making ability

• The ability to display flexibility in your style to teams and adapt plans, approach and behaviour to the different needs and situations with stakeholders at all levels

Key Responsibilities

• Continuously learn and stay ahead of emerging technologies and trends

• Translate trends into strategic direction and transformation initiatives, writing whitepapers for a broad audience.

• Engage with senior stakeholders, facilitate workshops, advise leadership, and drive decisions

• Solve complex business challenges, lead deep dives, root cause analysis, and strategic decision support

• Pragmatic execution mindset, combining strategic thinking with hands-on delivery ownership

• Design and deliver transformation Enterprise Proof of Concepts (2-3 months duration), a new tech proof of work within Larger ING environment

• Ensure execution and impact, track delivery, manage dependencies, and ensure outcomes are realized
