Is under the direct supervision of the Medical Transport Supervisor. Should have knowledge of treatment and stabilization of all patients, as well as all definitive techniques within their scope of practice and limitations of their certification, as governed by the Department of Public Health. This position will care for patients in the neonate, infant, child, adolescent, adult and geriatric age groups. Employee performs clinical duties in accordance with population specific guidelines and adheres to the Georgia Department of Public health, as outlined by the Georgia Office of EMS and Trauma.
Licensure or other certifications: State certification as Emergency Medical Technician.
Educational Requirements: High School Diploma or GED
Minimum Experience: Level I--no experience. Pay commensurate on experience, but not required.
Other: As approved by State of Georgia Department of Public Health to include emergency vehicle operation.

Competent in the administration of epinephrine auto-injectors for anaphylaxis
Perform pulse oximetry and blood glucose measurements and interpretation
Can perform administration of pre-measured unit doses of nebulized bronchodilator
Competent in the administration of oxygen using the nasal cannula or mask designed for delivery of oxygen. This does not include the High Flow Nasal Cannula (HFNC).
May serve as the primary patient caregiver during transport
Is knowledgeable of all laws pertaining to emergency vehicle operation
Operates NGHS vehicles within the NGHS standards and Georgia laws
Maintains all certifications required by law/department
Maintains up-to-date knowledge of all aspects of emergency medicine relative to pre-hospital treatment of all sick and injured patients and ensures that care is consistently delivered to every patient.
Ensures that emergency vehicle is clean and decontaminated at all times and that vehicle is fueled and fully stocked
Maintains all equipment on the ambulance is accounted for at all times, and that any equipment left at the hospital is retrieved.
Maintains and complies with all mandatory NGHS education.
Uses sound judgment in resolving problems using the chain of command and the NGHS Safety Took Kit.
Properly dresses in appropriate uniform attire.
Uses radio communication professionally and as directed.
Documentation is completed accurately and expeditiously within the standards of Medical Transport.
