EMS Institute - EMT Driver, Paramedic (Quarterback), Advanced Care & Critical Care Paramedics-(260002CA)

The Emergency Medicine (EM) and Critical Care Institutes at University Hospitals are seeking compassionate, skilled professionals to join our patient-centered care teams. We offer a variety of rewarding patient care opportunities across emergency, trauma, and critical care settings, including roles for EMT Drivers, Paramedics (Quarterback), Advanced Care Paramedics, Critical Care Paramedics and other training specialists. We are currently recruiting for a wide range of clinician and education-focused roles. We offer PRN, part-time, and full-time opportunities across multiple disciplines, including positions dedicated to direct patient care as well as training and education within our programs. Opportunities are available at locations across the Eastside, Westside, and Southside, allowing professionals to contribute to high-quality emergency and critical care services throughout our health system. Our teams work in collaborative, high-acuity environments that prioritize clinical excellence, professional development, and advancing the delivery of emergency and critical care in the communities we serve.

Qualifications

Education

  • Depending the role - Graduated from a state accredited EMT or paramedic program (Required)

Work Experience

  • EMT Driving experience and or Paramedic Experience (required)
  • Previous Paramedic experience (Preferred)

Knowledge, Skills, & Abilities

  • Able to communicate effectively with people from varied socioeconomic backgrounds; able to organize changing work assignments. (Required proficiency)
  • Medical terminology. (Preferred proficiency)
  • Patient care equipment specific to assigned population, telephone, beeper system, and nurse call system.
  • Three Peer Reviews required for Level II and III
  • Criteria to Promote and Maintain (five for Level II; seven for Level III)

Licenses and Certifications

  • Basic Life Support (BLS) (Preferred/Required)
  • Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) (Preferred/Required)
  • State of Ohio Paramedic Certification required. (Preferred/Required)
  • PALS (exception CMC) (Preferred or required within 6 Months)
