Community Integrated Health Emergency Care Provider opportunity in beautiful Hamilton, Montana!!
Bring your EMS skills to a different kind of call
Bitterroot Health is building out its Community Integrated Health Program, and we are hiring an Advanced EMT or Paramedic who wants to practice differently. Instead of responding to an emergency and handing the patient off, you will follow them home.
In this role you visit patients where they live including houses, ranches, assisted living, and trailers at the end of long gravel roads. You check on the CHF patient who was discharged four days ago and is not sure which of her pills she has already taken. You change a dressing, so a rancher does not drive forty minutes to the clinic for it. You set up a blood pressure cuff that transmits readings to his care team and sit with him until he can use it himself. You open a tablet, get a provider on screen, and be the hands and eyes in the room during that visit.
The work is autonomous, unhurried compared to a rig, and built around the same patients’ week after week. If the part of EMS you like best is assessment, teaching, and relationships, this is the role for you!
What you do
Scope of practice
You will practice at the full Montana scope of practice as defined by the Montana ECP Scope of Practice Document, including airway management and CPAP, supraglottic airways, IV and IO access, non-medicated IV fluid maintenance, blood glucose monitoring, venous blood sampling, 12-lead ECG acquisition and transmission, splinting, and AEMT-level medications, among them albuterol and ipratropium, epinephrine, naloxone, glucagon and dextrose, ondansetron, parenteral NSAIDs, nitroglycerin, aspirin, acetaminophen, thiamine, and immunizations.
Endorsements expand their scope. If you hold the AEMT Medication Endorsement or AEMT-99 Endorsement, bring them. If you do not, we will support you in earning them. A full scope of practice summary is included in the job description.
Preferred Additional Qualifications
Schedule: Full-time, 40 hours/week
Benefits: This position is eligible for the full benefit package
This is a grant funded term position. Employment is expected to run through 9/15/2027, with continuation contingent on renewed RHTP award funding and program performance. Bitterroot Health intends to pursue continuation funding and, where the program demonstrates results, to sustain the role beyond the grant period. We would rather tell you that plainly up front than bury it in an offer letter.
