The Empowerment Medicaid Waiver Specialist is responsible for providing educational support, conducting eligibility reviews, and managing the process of placing members on the Arkansas Medicaid Community Employment Support (CES) Waiver waiting list. This position plays a key role in ensuring members meet the necessary DD (Developmental Disabilities) eligibility requirements, while guiding individuals and their families through the waiver process. Regular communication and tracking of all relevant paperwork are essential to support members' access to critical services.

  1. Provide CES Medicaid Waiver Education:
    • Educate members, caregivers, and families about the Arkansas Medicaid Community Employment Support (CES) Waiver program, including benefits, application processes, and eligibility criteria.
    • Serve as a trusted resource for all CES Waiver-related inquiries, ensuring members fully understand the support available through the program and how to access it.
  2. Review Membership for Qualifying Diagnoses:
    • Conduct regular reviews of the membership database to identify members who may qualify for the CES Waiver based on their medical diagnosis and developmental needs.
    • Collaborate with healthcare providers and other specialists to verify diagnoses and ensure alignment with waiver eligibility standards.
  3. Complete and Submit Required Paperwork:
    • Gather all necessary documentation, including medical records, evaluations, and forms, to successfully place eligible members on the CES Waiver waiting list.
    • Manage the completion and timely submission of paperwork, keeping members informed of their application status and next steps.
  4. Track and Maintain DD Eligibility Requirements:
    • Ensure all members’ Developmental Disability (DD) eligibility requirements are tracked and up to date, monitoring for any changes in eligibility status.
    • Maintain comprehensive records in compliance with Arkansas Medicaid regulations, ensuring accuracy and readiness for any audits or reviews.



Qualifications

  • In-depth knowledge of Arkansas Medicaid programs, particularly the Community Employment Support (CES) Waiver.
  • Strong communication and organizational skills, with an ability to explain complex processes in an accessible manner.
  • Proficiency in managing and maintaining detailed records and documentation.
  • High School diploma and 2+ years of related experience in case management, healthcare services, or working with individuals with Developmental Disabilities.
