We operate residential and other correctional programs throughout Wisconsin that provide case management, counseling and treatment groups, vocational training and high-risk client monitoring and supervision.
About the Role
We are seeking a motivated and compassionate Employment Support Specialist to work directly with individuals in a correctional setting, helping them build the skills and resources needed for successful employment and community reintegration.
In this role, you will support participants in developing job readiness, securing employment opportunities, and preparing for a successful transition back into the community. You’ll collaborate with correctional staff, employers, and community partners to deliver impactful programming and individualized support.
Key Responsibilities
- Provide coaching and support to help clients obtain and maintain employment
- Assist clients in securing necessary identification, documentation, and work-related resources
- Coordinate employment opportunities by matching client skills with employer needs
- Maintain regular communication with employers and clients to support job success
- Facilitate employment readiness and pre-release programming in group and individual settings
- Support clients with financial planning, including budgeting and managing obligations
- Track client progress, employment activity, and program outcomes
- Maintain accurate and confidential client records
- Promote trauma-informed, professional interactions with all clients

QualificationsMinimum

Qualifications
- At least 2 years of experience working with justice-involved individuals or in a related human services field
- Minimum of 15 post-secondary education credits (or equivalent experience)
- Valid driver’s license with at least 2 years of driving experience
- Strong communication, organization, and time management skills
- Ability to work independently with minimal supervision
- Basic computer proficiency
Preferred

Qualifications
- Experience with job coaching, workforce development, or group facilitation
- Knowledge of the criminal justice system
- Familiarity with community resources supporting reentry and employment
- Experience using strengths-based or trauma-informed approaches

Work Environment
- Full-time position
- Work occurs within a correctional facility and in the community (e.g., employer sites, appointments)
- Regular interaction with clients in both individual and group settings
