Position Overview

The Employment Plaintiff Attorney will handle a variety of employment law matters on behalf of employees, including claims involving discrimination, harassment, retaliation, wrongful termination, wage and hour violations, and other workplace disputes. The ideal candidate is a motivated self-starter with strong analytical, writing, and advocacy skills who is eager to manage cases from inception through resolution.

Key Responsibilities

• 
  Manage a caseload of employment litigation matters.
• 
  Represent employees in claims involving discrimination, harassment, retaliation, wrongful termination, wage and hour violations, and related employment law issues.
• 
  Draft pleadings, motions, discovery requests and responses, and other legal documents.
• 
  Conduct legal research and develop case strategy.
• 
  Take and defend depositions of parties and witnesses.
• 
  Attend court hearings, mediations, settlement conferences, and arbitrations.
• 
  Communicate regularly with clients, opposing counsel, and expert witnesses.
• 
  Evaluate liability, damages, and settlement opportunities.
• 
  Prepare cases for trial and assist with trial proceedings as needed.
• 
  Maintain accurate billing records and ensure compliance with litigation deadlines.

Required Qualifications

• 
  Juris Doctor (J.D.) from an accredited law school.
• 
  Active membership in the California State Bar in good standing.
• 
  1–3 years of employment law litigation experience.
• 
  Experience handling employment matters from inception through resolution.
• 
  Strong legal research, writing, and analytical skills.
• 
  Experience drafting pleadings, motions, and discovery.
• 
  Excellent communication and client relationship management skills.
• 
  Ability to manage multiple matters in a deadline-driven environment.

Preferred Qualifications

• 
  Experience representing plaintiffs in employment litigation.
• 
  Experience taking or defending depositions.
• 
  Trial preparation experience.
• 
  Experience attending mediations and settlement conferences.
• 
  Familiarity with legal case management and document management software.
