Job Description

Employment Lawyer – NSW

Build and Lead a New Employment Law Practice within a Leading Personal Injury Firm

Who we are

Wyatts Lawyers is a well-established personal injury law firm with a strong reputation for delivering outstanding results for our clients. We are now looking for a talented and driven Employment Lawyer to join our team in Sydney on a full-time basis and help us build out this new practice area.

Who we are looking for

This is a unique opportunity for an experienced employment lawyer who is eager to take ownership, shape a new practice, and work alongside a supportive team of senior lawyers. You will be advising individuals on a wide range of employment matters, bringing your expertise into a firm that already advocates fiercely for the rights of injured workers and everyday Australians.

The ideal candidate will have strong technical expertise in employment law and a passion for providing practical, solutions-focused advice. You will be confident in handling matters independently while also collaborating with our wider team to deliver a seamless service to clients.

Key Responsibilities

• Provide legal advice and representation on a broad range of employment law issues, including unfair dismissal, general protection claims, adverse action, workplace investigations, discrimination, and contract review and disputes.

• Support clients in navigating the Fair Work Act and other regulatory frameworks.

• Work closely with personal injury lawyers to identify and service crossover employment law issues for existing clients.

• Build and grow the employment law practice within the firm, including developing new strategic partnership and new client relationships.

• Represent clients in negotiations, mediations, and tribunal/court proceedings as required.

Key Requirements

• Minimum 3+ years’ PQE with a strong focus on employment and industrial relations law.

• In-depth knowledge of the Fair Work Act, enterprise agreements, and employment frameworks.

• Experience handling complex workplace matters, including disputes, grievances, and investigations.

• Strong advocacy skills and ability to represent clients in high-stakes matters.

• Proven ability to build relationships with clients and colleagues, and to grow a practice area.

• A proactive, client-focused approach with excellent communication and negotiation skills.

Why Join Us?

• Rare opportunity to build and lead a new practice area in a supportive, established firm.

• Work part-time with flexibility to balance your career and personal commitments.

• Exposure to a diverse client base with growing demand for employment law services.

• Collaborative team culture with strong senior support.

• Competitive remuneration package, commensurate with experience.

If you’re an experienced Employment Lawyer looking to take the next step in your career and grow a new practice on a part-time basis within a thriving personal injury firm, we’d love to hear from you.
