With your authorisation we will exclusively run the entire application and recruitment process for you, keeping you apprised at every step. With over 30 years' combined experience of helping the most talented accounting, audit, tax and advisory professionals to make safe, well-judged moves into rewarding new roles, we have the experience, network and ability to help you.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Manage salaries-tax compliance and advisory for executives, expatriates and inbound and outbound assignees, including dual-employment and time-apportionment positions.
  • Advise on global-mobility programmes, assignment structuring, tax-equalisation policies and the territorial-source basis of Hong Kong salaries tax.
  • Advise on the taxation of equity and incentive awards, including share options and restricted-share units, and associated reporting.
  • Manage employer obligations and IRD reporting, including the filing of employer's returns and notifications of arrival and departure.
  • Coordinate cross-border positions under the relevant CDTAs and manage interactions with social-security and visa considerations.
  • Support client relationships, scoping and proposals, and contribute to the growth of the employment-tax practice.
  • Supervise and develop associates, and review deliverables for technical accuracy and quality.

Required Qualifications and Skills:

  • Member of the Hong Kong Institute of Certified Public Accountants (HKICPA), or an equivalent recognised accountancy or tax qualification.
  • At least seven years of employment-tax or global-mobility experience, with substantial professional-services exposure.
  • Detailed knowledge of Hong Kong salaries tax, the territorial-source principle and time-apportionment claims.
  • Experience advising on tax-equalisation, hypothetical tax and assignment-cost projections.
  • Working knowledge of equity-reward taxation and reporting.
  • Familiarity with the CDTA network as it applies to employment income.
  • Strong client-handling skills and the ability to manage sensitive individual cases with discretion.
  • Excellent organisational skills across high-volume compliance cycles.
  • Sound report-writing and review capability.
  • Right to work in Hong Kong, or eligibility to secure the appropriate visa.

Preferred Experience:

  • Exposure to regional mobility programmes across Asia-Pacific.
  • Familiarity with payroll technology and mobility-tracking tools.
  • Experience advising financial-services or multinational corporate clients.
  • Knowledge of immigration and social-security interactions affecting assignees.
  • Experience coaching and developing junior team members.
  • Mandarin or Cantonese language ability alongside English.

Compensation:

Competitive package commensurate with seniority and experience, including base, performance-based bonus, long-term incentives and (where applicable) partner-track participation.

Next Steps:

This opportunity is open to candidates who hold or can obtain the right to work in Hong Kong and who match the above criteria. Please apply to receive prompt contact from an experienced and specialist accounting-firm recruitment consultant.
