ASML US is seeking a strategic, business oriented Employment Counsel to join its US Legal and Compliance team and serve as a key leader overseeing employment law matters across the full employee lifecycle, litigation and dispute resolution, workplace investigations, compliance training and policy development, and workplace violence prevention and threat management.
Reporting to the US Head of Ethics, Compliance, and Employment Law, the Employment Counsel will serve as a trusted advisor to Human Resources and business leadership, responsible for a variety of employment legal matters. This role calls for a collaborative and respectful partner who engages constructively with stakeholders, embraces differing viewpoints, and delivers practical, business focused solutions that extend beyond traditional legal guidance.
Role and responsibilities
Provide strategic, pragmatic advice to HR, management, and business leaders on all stages of the employee lifecycle – including accommodations, personnel actions, including and diversity, leave administration, wage and hour compliance, and contingent workforce – delivering clear, actionable options and risk based recommendations.
Oversee and manage outside counsel on employment-related disputes, assess risk exposure, make recommendations on case strategy, settlement or trial and analyze case trends to report on lessons learned and inform proactive risk mitigation strategies.
Develop and deliver training programs, draft and update employment policies and monitor regulatory developments to ensure a compliant workplace culture.
Lead or oversee audits and internal investigations into potential ethics, misconduct and violations of policies or laws, ensuring investigations are prompt, thorough, and appropriately documented, and advising on remedial actions.
Advise workplace response/threat assessment team; guide incident triage, protective/restraining orders, documentation and strategy; and oversee post-incident remediation and lessons learned.
Juris Doctor (JD) degree from an accredited law school.
Admitted to the bar and in good standing.
10+ years of legal experience practicing employment law, in house experience required.
Exceptional relationship building, active listening, and empathy skills to navigate sensitive, complex matters and guide stakeholders toward constructive and creative solutions.
Ability to quickly learn the business, understand operational processes, and apply legal knowledge in a practical, business aligned manner.
Ability to translate legal complexity into clear, concise, business aligned solutions for non legal audiences.
Demonstrated ability to work independently with minimal direction, while building trust and influence across all levels and functions of the organization.
Intellectual curiosity, adaptability, and openness to new ideas and approaches.
Commitment to exceptional client service, prioritization, efficiency, and excellence.

This position is based in Chandler, Arizona. Relocation is available. The position requires onsite presence to attend in-person training, meetings and events and to ensure teamwork, collaboration and innovation. A flexible workplace arrangement, up to two days’ work from home per week, is available. Domestic and international travel as required.
