The Opportunity:

Washington State University's Academic Success & Career Center i s now accepting applications for an Employer Relations Manager. As the Employer Relations Manager, you will be responsible for building relationships and creating awareness among corporate and community organizations with regard to the benefits of hiring Washington State University students and graduates, and of the services of theWSU Career Center. Primary responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

  • Develop and maintain close working relationships with a variety of company employers and inviting those employers to engageWSUstudents.

  • Increase job postings, recruitments, and hiring activity for the university’s students and graduates.

  • Generate increased monetary and non-monetary support for the career center;

  • Plan, implement and evaluate Career Expo/Fairs and associated events/programs.

  • Recruit, hire, supervise and evaluate professional and undergraduate student staff.

  • Serve on departmental and university committees in support of the department and university’s mission, vision, and strategic plan.

Additional Information:

This is a full time (100 % FTE), permanent position. This position is overtime eligible.
This is an on-site/in-person role located in Pullman, WA


Monthly Salary: $4,500.00 to $4,900.00 | Commensurate with experience and qualifications

In accordance with RCW 49.58.110, the above salary reflects the full salary range for this position. Individual placement within the range is based on the candidate’s current experience, education, skills, and abilities related to the position.

Required Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree and three (3) years of professional work experience in student services or related education/experience. A Master’s degree in a related field may substitute for one (1) year of professional work experience. Any combination of relevant education and professional experience may be substituted for the educational requirement on a year‐for‐year basis.

  • Commitment to higher education and student success.

  • Demonstrated success in building and maintaining professional relationships (e.g. employers, alumni, and/or community partners).

  • Experience planning, coordinating, and evaluating events, programs, or initiatives involving multiple stakeholders.

  • Experience recruiting, training, supervising, leading, and mentoring professional staff, student employees, or project teams.

  • Experience promoting services, programs, or initiatives through presentations and outreach

  • Excellent verbal, written, and presentation communication skills.

  • Must have, or be able to obtain by time of hire, a valid driver’s license and meet requirements in accordance with SPPM7.10and departmental driving standards.


Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience working in higher education, talent acquisition, or university career services.

  • Experience developing partnerships that resulted in increased recruiting activity, sponsorships, or other financial/non-financial support.

  • Experience planning and managing career fairs, recruiting events, or large-scale programs.

  • Knowledge of student career development, internship programs, and college recruiting practices.

  • Experience using CRM, employer relations, recruiting, or career services management systems.

  • Experience serving on cross-functional committees, task forces, or strategic initiatives.
