We are looking for an Employee Relations Manager to join our People team in a hybrid role that combines employee relations (50%), with a strong focus on complex terminations and grievance handling and HR operations (50%). This role is ideal for someone who is equally comfortable managing structured HR processes and navigating sensitive, high-stakes employee situations with sound judgment, empathy, and discretion.
You will act as a trusted advisor to managers and leadership on employee relations matters, while also ensuring the day-to-day HR operations run smoothly, accurately, and in compliance with local labor law.
What You Will Be Doing:
Employee Relations (50%)
Lead and manage complex termination cases end-to-end - from case assessment and documentation, through manager/HR team coaching, to final execution - ensuring legal compliance and minimizing organizational risk.
Serve as the primary point of contact for employee grievances, conducting fair, thorough, and confidential investigations.
Advise managers and leadership on performance management, disciplinary processes, and difficult conversations.
Build and maintain strong working relationships with stakeholders across departments.
Draft and review sensitive documentation: performance improvement plans (PIPs), warning letters, termination letters, settlement agreements.
Identify patterns or recurring issues in employee relations cases and proactively recommend policy or process improvements.
Ensure all ER activity is handled with appropriate confidentiality, empathy, and fairness toward all parties involved.
Maintain thorough, well-organized case documentation to support consistency, defensibility, and institutional knowledge.
Own and maintain core HR processes: onboarding/offboarding, contract administration, employee data management, and HRIS accuracy.
Ensure compliance with local labor law, internal policies, and audit requirements across all HR documentation.
Manage and continuously improve HR workflows, templates, and standard operating procedures (SOPs).
Prepare and maintain HR reporting and metrics (e.g., headcount, turnover, termination) for leadership review.
Support payroll-adjacent processes.
Serve as a point of contact for employee questions on policies, contracts.
Partner with Legal and Payroll on process alignment, documentation standards, and risk mitigation.
About You:
5+ years of experience in HR, with a mix of HR operations and employee relations experience.
Demonstrated experience managing complex or contested terminations and grievance/investigation processes.
Fluent English.
Solid working knowledge of international labor law of multiple regions and different types of engagement (employment, B2B) and HR compliance requirements.
Strong stakeholder management skills; able to influence and advise managers and senior leadership.
Excellent judgment and discretion when handling sensitive and confidential information.
Strong written communication skills - comfortable drafting formal HR documentation (letters, agreements, case summaries).
Experience working with HRIS systems and comfortable with HR reporting/data.
Ability to balance empathy for employees with the need to protect the business and act decisively.
Experience in a fast-growing or multi-regional company.
Background partnering closely with Legal on employment matters.
Experience mentoring or supporting HR team members.
Degree in law.
