We currently have an opening for an Employee Relations & Benefits Manager. This position may be eligible for hybrid remote work in accordance with state policy and the agency’s remote work program but does require weekly onsite work.
The Employee Relations & Benefits Manager is a key HR leadership role responsible for overseeing core programs that directly affect the employee experience and organizational health. This role provides expert guidance to managers and employees on employee relations matters, leads investigations, ensures proper administration of statewide benefits programs, and maintains compliance with federal and state regulations.
The position functions as a subject matter expert in employee relations, disciplinary/grievance processes, ADA/ADAA accommodations, benefits management, and case resolution. It also supervises professional HR staff supporting employee relations, benefits, and leave administration programs.
About the Division:
The NCDIT Human Resources Division provides comprehensive human resources program support to the agency workforce statewide. The Division ensures compliance with Federal and State law, and guides agency leadership, management, supervisors, and employees in the areas of: HR policy administration and interpretation, classification and compensation, employee relations/disciplinary procedures, EEO administration, grievance administration, recruitment and selection, salary administration, BEACON/Fiori administration, performance management, workforce development/talent management, benefits administration, HR records management, and workforce safety and health programs.

Minimum Education and Experience

Bachelor's degree, typically in Human Resources or related field from an appropriately accredited institution and at least 5 years of experience in human resources, including 2 years of experience in an HR leadership position; or equivalent combination or education and experience.
