Job Description

This role is ideal for an experienced Employee Relations Advisor who brings the confidence and credibility to influence outcomes at all levels of the organisation. You will work closely with managers across the UK providing clear, commercially focused and risk aware guidance on a broad range of cases from sickness and capability to complex disciplinary and grievance matters. A key aspect of the role is managing settlement agreements end to end. You will be expected to independently assess suitability, lead negotiations, draft agreements and see cases through to closure, utilising external legal support only where necessary.

You will be part of a collaborative People Services function where your expertise will directly shape outcomes. Your insight will inform decision-making, your coaching will strengthen management capability and your pragmatic approach will help deliver fair, consistent and commercially sound resolutions. If you want to apply your advanced ER expertise in an environment that values high quality casework and thoughtful partnership, we would be pleased to hear from you.

Your role and responsibilities:

  • Manage a broad range of employee relations cases including sickness, absence, disciplinary matters, grievance, performance concerns and occupational health referrals. Identify high risk cases and confidently manage complex and sensitive matters with sound judgement and discretion.
  • Provide clear, timely, commercially focused advice to managers while balancing commercial priorities with legal risk.
  • Coach and support managers to effectively manage live employee relations cases in line with company policies.
  • Review case evidence and documentation to ensure accuracy, consistency and procedural compliance.
  • Support managers in drafting high-quality casework correspondence.
  • Share insight and learning from casework to drive continuous improvement and build capability.
  • Build strong, credible relationships with key stakeholders to deliver a consistent and high-quality experience.

What you’ll need to thrive in this role:

  • Strong experience in employee relations
  • Strong understanding of employment law and compliance
  • Ability to interpret and apply HR policies and procedures
  • Strong conflict resolution skills
  • Strong communication and influencing skills
  • Strong decision making and judgment
  • Strong problem solving and critical thinking abilities
  • A relevant degree and/or CIPD is desirable but not essential
  • Data analysis and reporting experience is desirable
  • English language at independent level
