Job Description

About Us

At Transgrid, our work improves the lives of millions – from lighting up sports fields, schools and homes, to powering the wheels of commerce and everything else in between. Now it’s your turn to make it happen.

This is an exciting time in the energy industry with the transition to renewable energy. Recent government policy documents outline plans to facilitate increasing transmission interconnection between states and development of renewable energy zones.

The Opportunity

Power Australia’s renewable energy future while growing your career in Employee Relations.

As we deliver nation-building renewable energy projects that will support communities for generations, we’re expanding — and now seeking a motivated Employee Relations Advisor to join our team.

In this role you will support the delivery of key ER initiatives and contribute to a positive, high-performing workplace culture. Working closely with senior ER leaders and internal stakeholders, you’ll manage a range of ER activities, ensuring queries and processes are handled efficiently and professionally.

This is a great opportunity to deepen your ER expertise in a purpose-driven organisation delivering nation-building projects.

This role is part-time (4 days per week) and can be based in Sydney or Newcastle.

About you

You’re a proactive and collaborative professional with a passion for people and workplace relations. You bring:

  • Relevant qualifications or experience in HR, IR/ER, Law or a related field
  • Working knowledge of Modern Awards, National Employment Standards and Enterprise Agreements
  • Strong analytical, problem-solving and organisational skills
  • The ability to manage competing priorities in a fast-paced environment
  • Excellent interpersonal skills with the ability to build strong stakeholder relationships
  • Sound judgement, discretion and professionalism when handling sensitive matters

If you’re ready to develop specialist ER skills and be part of a purpose-driven organisation shaping Australia’s energy future — we’d love to hear from you.

Recognition & Reward

We believe in providing our people personal, professional and social benefits so that they can deliver their best work each and every day. Employees have access to a range of corporate discounts across retail, utilities, travel, health & wellbeing etc, as well as novated leasing options, workplace flexibility, 20 weeks paid parental leave and more.

Regardless of where you are in your professional journey, Transgrid powers your career by providing access to regular and on-going training, workplace mentoring and tertiary education. At Transgrid, you are encouraged to build a career that is right for you.

About Transgrid

We’ve ensured the smooth operation of over 11,517 km of high-voltage transmission lines and 136 substations and switching stations across NSW and the ACT, with interconnections to QLD and VIC.

Our most crucial work is leading the transition to Australia’s clean energy future. The traditional coal system that served our country for decades is nearing the end of its life, to be replaced by wind and solar generation.

We’re making the right decisions now to prepare for the opportunities and challenges ahead – a changing climate, population growth and technology innovation.

As we lead the way towards a more resilient future, we’re working closely with our customers and communities to make sure no one is left behind.

Wherever you are in NSW or the ACT, you can be confident in the reliable, affordable and sustainable electricity we transmit as we make a better power system for generations to come.
