Team Introduction
Our Global Legal team provides key support for all TikTok’s innovative initiatives, state-of-the-art products, and integrated platforms servicing our global video market. We help our technological and business teams enable their vision by providing integrated legal guidance and support. The TikTok team is growing fast and is seeking highly experienced, bright and capable legal professionals to join the team. The Global Employment Law team provides strategic and practical legal advice to Human Resources and business stakeholders globally, and handles litigation matters involving TikTok in all the regions in which TikTok operates.
Responsibilities
- Effectively analyze and respond to data subject request cases related to employee and candidate privacy concerns in compliance with data protection law in multiple jurisdictions;
- Proactively collaborate with cross-functional stakeholders to address and resolve complex employee and candidate privacy requests;
- Navigate complex operational requirements to deliver consistently exceptional service;
- Identify opportunities to improve processes and policies at scale;
- Drive cross-functional projects balancing priorities of multiple stakeholders while meeting critical deadlines;
- Develop training and guidance relevant to stakeholders on employee data subject rights obligations, response procedures, and emerging legal developments.
Minimum Qualifications
- Significant privacy and/or compliance experience, e.g., privacy support, privacy consulting role, or a similar operations setting;
- Strong knowledge of UK and EU data protection frameworks and employee privacy requirements
- Highly organised and self-motivated person with excellent project management skills;
- Ability to critically analyse data, and build and present reports to senior leadership;
- Operates with a high degree of integrity including the ability to handle sensitive information confidentially;
- Excellent stakeholder management and written and verbal communication skills.
Preferred Qualifications
- Familiarity with HR systems and records management involving employee data
- In-house experience supporting HR legal or employment counseling teams in a multinational organization
- Privacy certification such as CIPP/E, CIPM, or similar is a plus.
