Employee Onboarding and Engagement Specialist
About the Role
We are seeking an Employee Onboarding and Engagement Specialist in Covington KY to support recruitment, onboarding, employee engagement, and compliance activities at a client site. This role serves as a key connection between employees, the staffing team, and the client, ensuring new hires have a positive onboarding experience while meeting all client-specific hiring and compliance requirements. The ideal candidate is highly organized, people-oriented, responsive, and comfortable working in a fast-paced, onsite environment.

Key Responsibilities
Recruitment & Hiring
- Follow all client-specific hiring requirements, including background checks, drug screening, and other pre-employment requirements.
- Enter new labor requisitions into the applicant tracking system (ATS), including required start dates and client specifications.
- Conduct pre-hire and random drug testing, where applicable.
- Support daily recruitment activities in accordance with the site recruitment strategy.
- Conduct daily candidate outreach and maintain an active, qualified candidate pool.
- Participate in onsite and offsite job fairs, community outreach, and employee referral programs.
- Assist with advertising open positions across appropriate recruiting channels.
- Coordinate candidate interviews, orientations, and start dates with the client and internal teams.
- Maintain a vetted pipeline of candidates to support ongoing workforce needs.
Employee Onboarding & Engagement
- Conduct new-hire orientations for all incoming employees by their first day of assignment.
- Serve as a visible and accessible resource for employees throughout their assignment.
- Conduct daily employee engagement activities by visiting production areas and common spaces.
- Build positive relationships with employees and develop an understanding of their day-to-day responsibilities and work environment.
- Monitor attendance and execute established attendance management procedures.
- Communicate attendance issues and employee concerns to the appropriate client and internal leadership.
- Participate in client production meetings, when requested, to provide updates and address employee concerns.
- Help identify opportunities to improve employee satisfaction, engagement, and retention.
Compliance & Administration
- Ensure all required pre-employment screening and contractual vetting steps are completed prior to an employee's start date.
- Audit new-hire paperwork for completeness and accuracy and work with the team to resolve outstanding items.
- Ensure compliance with company policies, client requirements, and established procedures.
- Maintain accurate employee records and documentation.
- Maintain and update employee punches in the timekeeping system, where applicable.
- Escalate compliance, attendance, or employee-relations concerns appropriately.
Qualifications & Requirements
- High school diploma or equivalent required; associate or bachelor's degree preferred.
- 2+ years of experience in staffing, recruiting, human resources, employee engagement, customer service, or a related field preferred.
- Experience working in a staffing, warehouse, manufacturing, logistics, or high-volume hourly workforce environment is a plus.
- Strong interpersonal and customer service skills with the ability to build relationships with employees and client leadership.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
- Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
- Comfortable working independently while also collaborating with a broader staffing and client team.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office, email, and other computer-based systems.
- Ability to learn and navigate applicant tracking systems, timekeeping platforms, and client-specific systems.
- Ability to maintain confidentiality and handle sensitive employee information appropriately.
- Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to address employee and client concerns professionally.
- Must be comfortable working onsite in a production/warehouse environment and interacting with employees throughout the workday.
- Ability to work the schedule required by the client and staffing operation.
Position Requirements — Education, Skills & Technical
- Bilingual in Spanish and English — must be able to communicate effectively in both languages, verbally and in writing.
- 2+ years of recruiting or staffing experience preferred.
- Ability to maintain confidential information in a discreet and professional manner.
- Strong customer service skills and excellent attention to detail.
- Ability to work effectively as part of a team.
- Reliable transportation required.
- Flexibility with work schedule, as determined by management.
- Ability and willingness to spend time on the client production floor.
- Employment is contingent upon successful completion of required criminal background screening and drug screening.
- Basic proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite.
- Basic data entry skills.
- Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment.
