Position Summary
The Assistant Account Manager supports the effective delivery of employee benefits programs to group clients by working closely with the Producer, Account Management, and other internal team members. This role combines operational experience, client service, and compliance awareness to ensure a remarkable client experience and smooth administration of benefit plans.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
- Collaborate with the Producer, AE, AM, and internal stakeholders to complete service tasks for assigned clients, ensuring all benefit-related activities are executed accurately and on time
- Cultivate strong relationships with clients, carriers, and vendors by understanding client needs, anticipating challenges, and proactively addressing concerns
- Stay informed on industry regulations and compliance requirements, supporting broker compliance tasks and helping to indemnify company risk under the direction of the AE
- Investigate and resolve benefit-related inquiries and concerns, including billing, claims, eligibility, and system errors, demonstrating a commitment to client satisfaction
- Provide clear and concise communication to clients, internal and external stakeholders, ensuring all parties are informed and aligned
- Maintain detailed and accurate records using internal agency management systems, shared file systems, and other applicable software applications
- Assist in the creation and review of employee benefit guides, presentations, and other key documents that are client and employee facing
- Assist with employee communication and open enrollment materials and meetings
- Learn and maintain benefit administration platforms as needed, supporting both internal processes and client needs
- Acknowledge and respond to all client requests promptly and professionally, setting timeline expectations when issues require additional time to resolve
- Develop and maintain excellent carrier and vendor relationships to facilitate effective plan administration and issue resolutions
- Support the overall development and advancement of the employee benefits team by performing other tasks and projects as assigned
- Leverage critical thinking and process improvement skills to recommend enhancements to workflows and client service delivery
- Know when to escalate and/or apprize the producer of unusual activity/red flags on accounts
- Uphold department best practices
- Support team and perform other duties as assigned

QualificationsMinimum Qualification:
- Active NJ DOI Life and Health Insurance
- At least two years of client service or benefits administration in benefits brokerage/insurance industry supporting 50-500 employees.
- Work schedule: 8:30 – 5:00pm EST M-F
- Accuracy and attention to detail is absolutely required, as well as a track record of reliability, confidentiality, and conscientious work habits
Key Competencies:
- Benefits product and eligibility knowledge
- Experience with MS Office, particularly Excel, Power Point, Publisher and data management software; benefits administration software highly desired (Employee Navigator)
- Strong organizational and time management skills
- Excellent written and verbal communication abilities
- Proactive problem-solving and critical thinking
- High attention to detail and accuracy
- Ability to work collaboratively in a team environment
