As an Emissions Quant Analyst & Trading Operator (m/f/d), you will become an integral part of MB Energy’s fast-growing new energy business and contribute directly to our ambition of “fuelling tomorrow.” As part of an international and dynamic trading environment, you will work at the intersection of quantitative analysis, trading operations, and emissions markets.
Working closely with senior traders and cross-functional teams, you will help drive operational excellence and support commercial activities through data-driven insights and analytical solutions. This role offers the opportunity to contribute to the development of automated tools, gain exposure to international emissions markets, and take ownership in a highly performance-driven environment.
You will play an important role in supporting commercial decisions, optimizing processes, and strengthening our emissions trading and compliance activities across international markets.
Support Trading Activities: You support trading, operational, and analytical activities with a focus on emissions markets and contribute to commercial decision-making.
Develop Quantitative Solutions: You design and develop automated tools and quantitative analytics to support emissions compliance operations, reporting activities, and trading processes.
Drive Emissions Operations: You support the team across all aspects of emissions trading and optimization, including compliance account management, regulatory analysis, commercial analysis, and desk operations.
Manage International Market Activities: You actively contribute to our emissions compliance portfolio across Europe and support activities in international markets, including the APAC region.
Coordinate Cross-Functional Collaboration You act as an interface between Product Control, IT, Data & Analytics teams, and other trading departments to ensure smooth processes and effective collaboration.
Collaborate with Global Trading Teams: You work closely with senior traders globally and gain direct exposure to day-to-day trading activities and strategic discussions.
Educational Background: A university degree in IT, Natural Sciences, Engineering, or a related field.
Professional Experience: First experience in a front-office environment, ideally within power, gas, or emissions trading.
Quantitative Expertise: Strong analytical and quantitative capabilities combined with development and coding know-how.
Technical Skills: Strong programming skills in Python and SQL are required.
Language Skills: Excellent written and spoken English skills are mandatory; German language skills are considered a plus.
Detail-Oriented & Reliable: You work with precision and maintain a high level of accuracy and reliability in your daily work.
Ownership & Accountability: You take responsibility for your topics and proactively drive tasks from both an operational and commercial perspective.
Performance-Driven & Resilient: You enjoy working in a fast-paced and high-performing environment and are willing to go the extra mile when needed.
