The Sales Strategy and Operations Analyst/Senior Analyst at Salesforce will play a crucial role in supporting the strategic and day-to-day business operations for the sales teams in the Emerging Business Operating Unit. This role is a hybrid of traditional roles in strategic planning, sales strategy, finance, and analytics – requiring a mix of market & business analysis, sales optimization, and business operational support.

Reporting to the Director of Sales Strategy and Operations, the individual in this role will be responsible for helping with the analytics and analysis for the Emerging Business Sales Strategy and Operations team. They will work on a variety of strategic and operational projects across functions, for example evaluating market opportunities, business planning, performance tracking, forecasting, and sales operations. The role requires interaction with various areas of the organization and provides daily exposure to senior executives. A successful candidate will have relentless curiosity and possess a passion for extracting insights from data and converting ideas to action.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Assist in ongoing analysis of business performance to support daily operations
  • Design and interpret key performance metrics, and deliver insights & recommendations
  • Help maintain weekly forecasts of business performance for sales leadership
  • Assist in developing and delivering presentations for senior executives
  • Support strategic initiatives including evaluating areas of opportunity for the business unit
  • Assist in troubleshoot operational issues as they surface; propose changes to systems/processes to fix root causes
  • Prepare analysis and recommendations for sales and strategy leadership to support strategic decision making


Desired Skills/Experience:

  • 2+ years of work experience focused on quantitative analysis, financial modeling, and logical reasoning
  • Bachelor’s degree from an accredited university or equivalent relevant experience
  • Self-starter with a high degree of motivation to go above and beyond
  • Exceptional problem-solving skills with the ability to structure complex problems and propose innovative solutions
  • Comfort running complex analyses and modeling in Excel or Google Sheets
  • Strong presentation skills, especially related to building compelling PowerPoint or Google Slides presentations
  • Experience in management consulting, finance, product management, sales strategy, or sales operations is a plus
  • Experience aggregating large datasets using SQL, SOQL, Tableau or similar analytical packages is a plus
  • Experience in automation or scripting using Javascript, Google Apps Script or similar is a plus
  • Experience in AI Tools using like Claude, Gemini or similar is a plus

typical base salary range for this position is $99,400 - $150,300 annually. In select cities within the San Francisco and New York City metropolitan area, the base salary range for this role is $118,900 - $163,500 annually.
The
range represents base salary only, and does not include company bonus, incentive for sales roles, equity or benefits, as applicable.
