Who are we looking for?Please have a positive personality, be capable of effective communication, enjoy working in a fast-paced team environment, multi-task like a pro, and have a well-rounded skill set and solid knowledge base. As we are a 24-hour emergency hospital please be willing to work outside of the boring 9am-5pm weekday schedule. We prefer someone with at least one year of experience working as a technician in a veterinary hospital. Registered Veterinary Technician preferred but not required. Responsibilities include:
Assisting Veterinarians and other staff members
Restraining animals safely using stress-free handling techniques
Working collaboratively and positively with all coworkers
Provide nursing care to hospitalized patients and medical care to outpatients
Successfully use all in house laboratory equipment to provide accurate results
Safely and effectively take digital radiographs
Be able to calculate drug dosages
Giving medications via all prescribed routes: PO, SC, IM, IV
Proficiency with catheterization (venous, urinary)
Possess or develop advanced emergency skills
Comfortable with all aspects of emergency medicine
Effectively care for and communicate with clients
Prepare and monitor patients for sedated and anesthetic procedures, including setup, anesthesia monitoring, and recovery care.
