If you enjoy emergency medicine, want to see a diverse and challenging caseload, and value practicing alongside people who take both medicine and teamwork seriously, we would love to talk to you.
The Veterinary Medical Center of Central New York is a busy, 24/7 emergency and specialty hospital serving Central New York. Our emergency clinicians see a high volume of patients and practice high-quality medicine in a collaborative environment with access to specialty services, experienced technicians, and strong diagnostic capabilities.
Just as importantly, we work hard to maintain a culture built around accountability, growth, collaboration, and supporting one another.
Our Emergency Department works alongside specialists in:
This creates an environment where ER clinicians can manage challenging cases while collaborating with colleagues across multiple disciplines. Whether you are working up a complicated medical patient, stabilizing a surgical emergency, or managing a critically ill hospitalized patient, you are practicing within a hospital built around emergency and specialty care.
Our goal is simple: give clinicians access to the diagnostics they need to make thoughtful, timely decisions for their patients.
VMC is a 24/7 hospital supported by emergency veterinarians, licensed veterinary technicians, and skilled veterinary assistants. Client service representatives are in the hospital 24 hours a day.
We value technicians as an essential part of the medical team and believe great emergency medicine depends on collaboration, mutual respect, and the ability to rely on one another. Our doctors work alongside experienced support staff who play an active role in patient treatment and critical care. We encourage our team members to work at the full extent of their training and licensure, allowing veterinarians to focus on the medical decisions and complex cases that require their expertise. Emergency medicine is challenging by nature, and we believe a strong, supportive team makes all the difference.
We fiercely protect our culture.
Emergency medicine is demanding. We believe the answer is creating a team where people can rely on one another.
That means accountability, teamwork, communication, continued growth, and mutual respect. We expect people to contribute to the team, and we expect the team to support the people in it.
We also believe strongly in work-life harmony. Our ER doctor schedule is built collaboratively as a group, allowing us to maximize flexibility while making sure the hospital and our patients are cared for.
