CARE is a multidisciplinary veterinary specialist and emergency hospital in Collingwood, centrally located on the fringe of Melbourne’s CBD.
We are seeking an experienced ECC Vet who thrives on a busy shift and has a passion for providing the best patient care.
Our ECC veterinarians are led and supported by Dr. Christine Lovatt DAVCECC with support from the wider specialist team and a core of Membership qualified ECC vets, allowing excellent scope for continuing education opportunities and practical on-the-job training.

The position involves primary responsibility for the treatment of primary accession and referred cases to our emergency and critical care department, as well as shared care of hospitalised patients both from the primary emergency caseload and the other specialist departments. Management of cases in the ICU often involves discussion and assistance from multiple specialist disciplines, providing an excellent opportunity for learning and case follow-up.
About us:
We are a large 24hr multidisciplinary hospital based in the eclectic inner-city neighbourhood of Collingwood (3km from the CBD). The hospital is staffed with an outstanding team of veterinarians, nurses, and support staff working alongside specialists in surgery, internal medicine, and emergency & critical care.
You will have access to a large suite of equipment including a variety of imaging modalities (Siemens 16-slice CT, digital radiography, digital subtraction fluoroscopy, Phillips Affiniti and POC ultrasound machines, regular off-site access to 3T MRI imaging), critical care (6 new Menios oxygen cages, new Getinge Servo-u ventilator and high flow nasal oxygen), laboratory (Radiometer blood-gas machine, IDEXX Procyte haematology, Catalyst biochemistry and coagulation machines) and other equipment such as Olympus endoscopy and advanced anaesthetic monitoring.
