Job Description

What makes this opportunity different?

Variety that keeps you on your toes

Work on everything from fire apparatus and ambulances to specialized emergency equipment.

Independence to do what you do best

Take your skills into the field, solve problems, and build relationships with the customers who rely on you.

An opportunity to keep growing

Expand your expertise through ongoing training, certifications, and exposure to industry-leading equipment.

A team that has your back

Join experienced technicians and service professionals who share knowledge, tackle challenges, and take pride in their work.

Here's what you'll be getting into

This isn't a job where you'll spend every day doing the same handful of repairs. You'll put your mechanical knowledge to work diagnosing problems, making repairs, and keeping emergency vehicles operating at their best.

You'll:

  • Diagnose and repair mechanical, electrical, hydraulic, and pump systems on fire apparatus and emergency vehicles.
  • Travel to customer locations to perform maintenance, troubleshoot issues, and complete field repairs.
  • Work with equipment from leading manufacturers, including Pierce, Skeeter, Demers, and Crestline.
  • Collaborate with our service and technical teams when a repair requires a few extra minds.
  • Build trust with customers by communicating clearly, delivering quality work, and following through.

Sound like you?

You don't need to have spent your entire career working on fire trucks to be successful here. We're interested in technicians who have a strong mechanical foundation and the curiosity to learn something new.

We're looking for someone who brings:

  • Hands-on experience diagnosing and repairing mechanical or electrical systems.
  • The ability to troubleshoot problems without needing someone to hold their hand.
  • Confidence working independently and interacting directly with customers.
  • A willingness to learn new equipment, systems, and technologies.
  • Pride in doing quality work, even when nobody's watching.

Experience with emergency vehicles and a Class B CDL are preferred, but not required.

What you'll find at MacQueen

We know great technicians have options. That's why we offer competitive compensation, a comprehensive benefits package, ongoing technical training, certification opportunities, and room to grow your career.

You'll also have the opportunity to work with some of the most respected names in the emergency vehicle industry while being part of a team that values your experience and expertise.

Your skills have value. We pay accordingly.

We know great technicians don't all come with the same experience, qualifications, or skillset. Your compensation will reflect what you bring to the table (and the toolbox).

Ready for something a little different?

If you're looking for a place where your mechanical skills will be challenged, your experience will be valued, and your work will never feel ordinary, we'd love to hear from you.

Come see what you can do at MacQueen.

Physical Demands & Work Environment

This is a hands-on, physically active role that involves working on and around large emergency vehicles and equipment. The position may require:

  • Frequently bending, kneeling, squatting, climbing, reaching, and working in various positions to access and repair vehicle components.
  • Lifting, carrying, pushing, pulling, or moving parts, tools, and equipment weighing up to 50 pounds frequently, with heavier items handled occasionally using appropriate assistance or lifting equipment.
  • Standing, walking, and moving throughout the workday, including working in confined or elevated areas when necessary.
  • Using hands and fingers to operate tools, handle small components, and perform detailed mechanical repairs.
  • Occasionally sitting and using a computer or diagnostic equipment to document repairs, access technical information, and complete service records.
  • Working in shop and field environments with potential exposure to noise, chemicals, fumes, moving equipment, and varying weather conditions. Appropriate personal protective equipment (PPE) must be used in accordance with applicable safety procedures.
