Legacy Good Samaritan features nationally renowned doctors in cancer care, kidney transplantations, neurology, ophthalmology, weight-loss surgery, robotic surgery, rehabilitation and more, with access to emergency care if needed.

Responsibilities

The Emergency Services Technician participates as a member of the healthcare team by assisting the Licensed Independent Practitioner (L.I.P.), R.N. and Unit Secretary. The position is an integral part of the team approach to patient care and performs those tasks that contribute to the smooth and efficient flow of patients through the department.

  • PATIENT CARE: Provides patient care to newborn, child, adult and geriatric patients as delegated by and under the supervision of a registered nurse.
  • COMMUNICATION: Uses appropriate communication skills in dealing with patients, visitors, EMS personnel, hospital personnel.
  • ENVIRONMENTAL DUTIES: Demonstrates responsibility and accountability for maintenance and safety of unit equipment and supplies.
  • EDUCATION: Demonstrates and maintains active working knowledge of the Credentialing competencies for Emergency Services Techs. There will be a three-month leeway between time of hire and mandatory completion of competencies which will be turned in to nurse manager.
  • PROFESSIONAL BEHAVIOR: Demonstrates professionalism in appearance and actions.

Qualifications

Education:

  • High School diploma or equivalent.

Experience:

  • Previous patient care experience in an Emergency environment and/or with children strongly preferred

Skills:

  • Basic medical terminology.
  • Computer familiarity.
  • Able to work in a fast-paced environment with ability to prioritize multiple assignments.

Licensure

  • BLS for Providers certification from the American Heart Association required.
  • CNA, MA or EMT desired.

Pay Range

USD $21.70 - USD $29.39 /Hr.
