Job Description

Emergency medical situations can be overwhelming for patients and their families. As an Emergency Room Technician at Legacy, you will play a vital role in easing those fears by delivering compassionate, high-quality care in a dynamic, fast-paced environment. Working alongside a specialized emergency team, you’ll support both pediatric and adult patients during some of the most critical moments of their lives. Legacy Salmon Creek Medical Center is Southwest Washington’s most modern hospital, offering the latest technology in a setting designed for comfort and care for the whole family. We feature innovations in joint replacement, robotic surgery, pelvic health for women, cancer care, intensive care for newborns, neurosurgery, medical care for children and more.

Responsibilities

  • Contributes to a team-based approach to patient care, ensuring efficient and effective patient flow through the Emergency Department.
  • Provides direct patient care to newborns, children, adults, and geriatric patients under the supervision and delegation of a Registered Nurse.

  • Demonstrates effective and professional communication with patients, visitors, EMS personnel, and hospital staff.

  • Maintains responsibility and accountability for the cleanliness, maintenance, and safety of unit equipment and supplies.

Qualifications

Education:

  • High School diploma or equivalent.

Experience:

  • Previous patient care experience in an Emergency environment and/or with children strongly preferred

Skills:

  • Basic medical terminology.
  • Computer familiarity.
  • Able to work in a fast-paced environment with ability to prioritize multiple assignments.

Licensure

Oregon:

  • Current American Heart Association BLS for Provider certification required.
  • CNA, MA or EMT preferred.

Washington:

  • Current American Heart Association approved CPR certification required.
  • Registered or Certified Nursing Assistant (RNA/CNA) required for employees who perform this job in the state of Washington (including those who float into the role).
  • Medical Assistant-Phlebotomist required for employees who perform phlebotomy in the State of Washington (including those who float into the role).

Pay Range

USD $22.32 - USD $31.90 /Hr.
