Job Description

Join Stolthaven Terminals as an Emergency Response Coordinator and play a critical role in protecting our people, assets, and operations.

In this role, you will lead the site's Emergency Response Team (ERT), overseeing fire protection, emergency preparedness, and incident response programs. Acting as the primary point of contact for emergency response matters, you will partner with Engineering, Construction, Security, and Operations to ensure compliance, readiness, and effective response to fire, medical, HAZMAT, and security-related incidents. You will coordinate training, drills, inspections, and emergency response systems while serving as Incident Commander during emergency events.

What You Will Be Doing

As Emergency Response Coordinator, you will lead all aspects of emergency preparedness and response at the terminal, ensuring compliance with applicable regulations and industry standards. You will manage ERT training, drills, emergency response equipment, and fire protection systems while serving as the site's subject matter expert on emergency response. Working closely with internal stakeholders, contract security providers, and industry partners, you will help maintain operational readiness and strengthen emergency response capabilities. During emergency incidents, you will serve as Incident Commander/Fire Chief, directing response activities and coordinating communications across all involved parties. Additionally, you will support site medical response efforts as an EMT/EMR and assist with facility security programs as the Assistant Facility Security Officer (AFSO).

Key responsibilities

  • Serve as the primary liaison between Engineering, Construction, and site departments for fire protection and emergency response matters.
  • Coordinate inspections, maintain fire system compliance, and ensure emergency response equipment readiness.
  • Lead all Emergency Response Team (ERT) activities, including training, drills, and regulatory compliance.
  • Provide site-wide leadership for medical and HAZMAT response activities, including EMT/EMR coordination and spill response management.
  • Serve as Incident Commander/Fire Chief during emergency events, directing response operations and ensuring personnel safety.
  • Act as Subject Matter Expert (SME) on all emergency response-related material development,including: providing training to meet compliance requirements related to emergency response and participating with industry partners to maintain relationships necessary to keep the company engaged with emergency response programs and norms in the petro-chemical industry.
  • Serve as both secondary liaison with contract security company and Assistant Facility Security Officer (AFSO) and coordinate all security-related issues to the Facility Security Officer (FSO).


Qualifications

  • High school diploma or GED equivalent required.
  • 5–10 years of experience in the petro-chemical industry
  • Preferred Certifications: AAS Degree in Fire Protection or Safety preferred; NIMS 100, 200, 700, 800 preferred; Industrial Fire Fighting certification; HAZWOPER 40 hour; Certified in Industrial Rescue NFPA 1036; NFPA 1021 Fire Officer and 1081 Industrial Fire Fighter; Working knowledge of NFPA 24, 20, 15, 13, 11.
  • Preferred Skills in: Emergency medical, Rescue, and Fire fighting.
